Our Duty to Revive Morality

We all are aware of the position of morality in the present world. In a lot of cases man and the states, a majority of them, have lost morality. States attack other states, continue wars one after another. The recent example is state terrorism by Myanmar on Rohinga Muslim people. On the other hand there are terrorists in many places who are killing innocent civilian people, women/children/ captives.
If we look at Bangladesh we find it has reached a climax in corruption and a major portion of society is involved in extortion, tender hijacking, grabbing of land, canals, rivers etc. Rape and women repression has become a regular feature and reached an alarming stage. The situation may be more or less same in many countries/societies In the past degradation of morality was perhaps not so much grave.
We have to think why morality is degrading worldwide. Main reason of this may be the lust for enjoyment and materialism, especially at a time when secularism is accepted as basis of state policy. Main theme of materialism is that mankind would live by on its own reason, not on any Divine or God gifted guidance; he will make his own rules. In doing so religion has almost been driven away from education system. Even in our country the position of religion in education is negligible.
We need to think how to revive morality. I feel that in order to do so we have to make widespread changes in education system .Morality has to be incorporated in the courses. Secondly, a subject named Ethics may be included as a subject in schools, colleges and universities. In that subject parts of Quran, life of Rasul(sm) and selected hadith may be included for Muslims. Stress may be given on Islamic way of life. Similarly for students of other religion some teachings of their holy books and lives of saints may be taught. Morality should be upheld in every stage.
I have to mention without hesitation that after getting a Master's degree from the Dhaka University I observed that I was not taught a single verse from Quran , not even a line from the life of Rasul(sm) in my education life. If this is the condition of education system of a nation or state how the need for religious teaching can be fulfilled?
Now I want to stress that we will never adopt indecency in any form, in dress, behavior,sexual life , films, songs,in advertisements ( Islam calls it Fawahisha , open and private and prohibits it ,see Sura Araaf, verse 33).
We have to stop all routes of indecency in dresses, songs, dramas or cinemas by law. Illicit story, scene and outfits must be stopped. Objectionable dresses in ads must be avoided. Such exposed bodies of women are shown in ads which are degrading and dishonorable for women.
Whereas a women can sacrifice life for her sexual integrity/ sanctity ,even then she is exposed most indecently in most ads/films . The models/fashion girls are selling their beauty by showing most part of their bodies,they wear tight dresses, do not keep put Urna/scarf/extra cover on their breasts although Allah has prescribed this in Quran, Sura Nur, verse 31 ). Many women have told me they are ashamed of this obscene culture. I have known from media that the number of Models in Bangladeh may be 70-80. Some of them take part in many ads , so they are seen as too many.They are not many but because of ads they are everywhere.There is no reason that commodities will not be sold if girls' obscene pictures are not shown in ads. People do not buy things for these pictures . It may be mentioned that Capitalism has made everything a commodity including even the body of women. We have to be free from this menace.
The role of parents/teachers in saving their children from immorality/ indecency is great. They should teach them moral conduct through teaching them Quran/Prophet (sm) life/ other great lives/ Islamic values ( for Non Muslims there should be similar arrangement) They have to try their best. The duty of newspapers, journalists and TV authorities is great. They should write and preach against these. Cinema producers have big duty in the matter. The main victim of illicitness is the women all over the world. The women leaders should take powerful role in this respect.

নৈতিকতা পুনর্বহালে আমাদের করণীয়

আমরা সবাই জানি, বর্তমানে বিশ্বে নৈতিকতার অবস্থা কী। মানুষ ও রাষ্ট্রগুলো অনেক ক্ষেত্রেনৈতিকতা হারিয়ে ফেলেছে। অন্তত বেশির ভাগই তা হারিয়ে ফেলেছে। রাষ্ট্রগুলো বিভিন্ন দেশে হামলাচালায়, একের পর এক যুদ্ধ করে। এ দিকে আবার সন্ত্রাসীরাও রয়েছে, যারা হত্যা করে থাকে। আমরাযদি বিশেষ করে বাংলাদেশের দিকে তাকাই, দেখতে পাচ্ছিÑ আমরা দুর্নীতির চূড়ান্তপর্যায়ে চলে গেছিএবং সমাজের একটা বড় অংশ চাঁদাবাজি, টেন্ডারবাজি, জমি দখল, খাল দখল, নদী দখল এসবকরছে। এর পাশাপাশি প্রতিনিয়ত ধর্ষণ ও নারী নির্যাতন ব্যাপক হারে বেড়ে গেছে। নৈতিকতার এতপতন অতীতে ছিল বলে মনে হয় না।
আমাদের ভেবে দেখতে হবে, সারা বিশ্বে নৈতিকতার পতন কেন হচ্ছে? এর মূল কারণ মনে হয়,ভোগবাদ ও বস্তুবাদ, বিশেষ করে যখন সেকুলার মতবাদকে রাষ্ট্রীয় ভিত্তি হিসেবে গ্রহণ করা হলো।বস্তুবাদের মূল কথা হচ্ছেÑ মানবজাতি চলবে তার নিজের যুক্তির মাধ্যমে। কোনো রকম ডিভাইন বাআল্লাহপ্রদত্ত কোনো বিধানের ভিত্তিতে নয়; বরং সে তার আইন নিজেই তৈরি করবে। এভাবেশিক্ষাব্যবস্থা থেকে ধর্মীয় শিক্ষাকে প্রায় বিদায় করে দেয়া হয়েছে। এমনকি, আমাদের দেশেও শিক্ষায়ধর্মের অবস্থান বর্তমানে খুবই দুর্বল।
নৈতিকতার পুনর্বহাল কিভাবে আমরা করতে পারি, সে বিষয়ে চিন্তা করা প্রয়োজন। তবে আমার কাছেপ্রথমত প্রতীয়মান হচ্ছে, এটা পুনর্বহাল করতে গেলে শিক্ষাব্যবস্থার ব্যাপক পরিবর্তন আনতে হবে।বিশেষ করে নৈতিকতাকে আমাদের কোর্সের অন্তর্ভুক্ত করতে হবে। দ্বিতীয়ত, স্কুল-কলেজ-বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়পর্যায়ে নৈতিকতাকে একটি সাবজেক্ট হিসেবে চালু করা যেতে পারে। সে সাবজেক্টে মুসলিমদের জন্যআল কুরআনের কিছু অংশ, রাসূল সা:-এর জীবনী ও কিছু নির্বাচিত হাদিস থাকতে পারে।অনুরূপভাবে ইসলামি জীবনব্যবস্থার ওপরও জোর দেয়া যেতে পারে।
অমুসলিমদের জন্য তাদের ধর্মীয় পুস্তকের কিছু অংশ, তাদের ধর্মীয় মহাপুরুষদের জীবনীর কিছু অংশথাকতে পারে। মোটামুটিভাবে বলতে চাচ্ছি, নৈতিকতার গুরুত্ব সব পর্যায়েই দেয়া প্রয়োজন।
আমার বলতে দ্বিধা নেই, আমি যখন ঢাকা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের ছাত্র, তখন লক্ষ করলাম যে, বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়থেকে মাস্টার্স ডিগ্রি অর্জন করলাম; কিন্তু গোটা শিক্ষাজীবনে কুরআনের একটি লাইন শেখানো হয়নি।এমনকি রাসূল সা:-এর জীবনের একটি লাইনও শেখানো হয়নি। এই যদি হয় একটি দেশ বা জাতিরশিক্ষাব্যবস্থার নমুনা, তাহলে কী করে একটি জাতির ধর্মীয় শিক্ষার প্রয়োজন পূরণ হতে পারে?
এখন যে বিষয়টির কথা বলছি তা হচ্ছেÑ অশ্লীলতা আমরা গ্রহণ করব না। অশ্লীলতার যত রুট আছে,তা বন্ধ করতে হবে। অশ্লীল পোশাক, অশ্লীল গান, অশ্লীল নাটক কিংবা সিনেমার অশ্লীলতা ইত্যাদিআইন করে বন্ধ করতে হবে। সিনেমা বা নাটকের অশ্লীল গল্প, দৃশ্য ও পোশাক বন্ধ করা দরকার।বিজ্ঞাপনের ব্যাপারেও আপত্তিকর পোশাক পরিহার করা প্রয়োজন। কারণ বিজ্ঞাপনে নারীদের এমনসব অশ্লীল দৃশ্যে উপস্থাপন করা হয়, যা দেখতে বেমানান। নারী তার ইজ্জত রক্ষা করার জন্য যেখানেজীবন দেয়ার কথা, সেখানে এক শ্রেণীর নারীকে 'খোলামেলা'ভাবে উপস্থাপন করা হচ্ছে। শুধু কি তাই,ফ্যাশন শো বা টিভি বিজ্ঞাপনে ও বিলবোর্ডে এক শ্রেণীর মডেলকন্যা বা নারীদের খোলামেলাভাবেবারবার দেখিয়ে তাদের সৌন্দর্য বিক্রি করা হচ্ছে। সৌন্দর্য তো বিক্রির পণ্য নয়। এমনকি তারা টাইটপোশাক পরে। বুকে কাপড় দেয় না। যা দেখলে খুবই লজ্জা লাগে। এটা আমাকে নারীরাই বলেছেন।আল্লাহ তায়ালা নারীদের বুক ওড়না দিয়ে ঢেকে রাখার বিষয়ে কুরআনে আয়াত নাজিল করেছেন(সূরা নূর)। অথচ এক শ্রেণীর মডেলকন্যা এই নিষেধকে পর্যন্ত উপেক্ষা করে চলেছে। পত্রিকা দেখেজানতে পেরেছি, মডেলিং করেন এমন নারীর সংখ্যা এ দেশে ৭০-৮০ জনের বেশি নয়। বিজ্ঞাপনেঅশ্লীল পোশাকে নারীদের না দেখালে পণ্য বিক্রি হবে না- এর কোনো কারণ নেই। মানুষ এসব অশ্লীলছবি দেখে পণ্য কেনে না। এ প্রসঙ্গে উল্লেখ্য, পুঁজিবাদ সব কিছুকেই পণ্য বানিয়ে ফেলেছে। এমনকিনারীর শরীরকেও। এ থেকে আমাদের অবশ্যই উদ্ধার পেতে হবে।
অনৈতিকতা থেকে রক্ষা করার ক্ষেত্রে বাবা-মা ও শিক্ষকদের দায়িত্ব অনেক। তারা এ ব্যাপারেসাধ্যমতো চেষ্টা করবেন। সংবাদপত্র, সাংবাদিক, টিভি কর্তৃপক্ষেরও দায়িত্ব এ ক্ষেত্রে অনেক। তারাঅনৈতিকতা ও অশ্লীলতার বিরুদ্ধে বারবার লিখতে ও প্রচার করতে পারেন। সিনেমার প্রযোজকদেরদায়িত্ব এ ব্যাপারে অনেক। তাদের মাধ্যমে অশ্লীলতা ছড়াচ্ছে। সব অশ্লীলতার শিকার মূলত নারীরা,সারা দুনিয়াতেই। নারী নেত্রীদের দায়িত্ব, এ ব্যাপারে জোরালো ভূমিকা গ্রহণ করা।
