It says Mr. Alamgir does not have 2 years of membership. As a member, we seek for more information stating based on what document. I have great respect to election commission, however, I think it would help all members to understand if the election commission include more information stating based on such and such information, Mr. Alamgir's nomination does not meet 2 years criteria.   Let me highlight a scenario: Think about a fiscal year of 2008-2009. Membership fee due: July 1 (Meaning July 2008) Cut-off date: April 30 (Meaning April 30, 2009). I think you all understand what this means. Now you have already printed your voter list for this election period. According to law, if I pay my membership fees today or anytime between now and until April 30, 2009, I would be considered a valid member for the fiscal 2008-2009. So, it would totally make sense that if I become a member after you have printed your voter list; my name would not be there, even though I am a valid member for the fiscal year. So, so far I know you were looking for Mr. Alamgir's name on the list, which was printed a long time ago before the cut-off date. So, it makes sense that you may not find his name there. However, it does not mean that he/she was not a member for that fiscal year. Once again, I would request to think about the above highlight. So, what does it tell me? It tells me that the old list was a good list only for the voting purpose, but not for making a decision who qualifies and who does not as a candidate. I strongly believe that the list does not give a basis to make a decision. I hope the knowledge Election Commission would think about the lacking they are having in making their decision. So, what do you need to make your decision? I am leaving that on to you. I am here not to make Mr. Alamgir as a valid candidate, just seeking clarification for ground of election commission's decision. I would abide by all the rules and regulations of the association. However, I would request to keep things clear as well. Let me reiterate my stand once again to clarify that I would also request to follow the rules, but in way that does not raise further questions. Think about next year!! What will happen? Can you see that far? If not, you definitely need some help. Same thing would happen to you, to anybody, who would seek for election next time.. I would suggest that follow the rules, but do not leave an opportunity that could raise a question or conflict or divide our community. It is easy to make a division, but hard to unite. Same issue would raise next year, if someone become a member after you have printed your list for this year's election. It means his/her name would not be on the list since the list was printed before the cut-off date. So you cannot run for election even you are a valid member. Look like I do not have to make a mistake to fall a trap, I could fall in a trap from someone else's mistake.   THINK TWICE. This is my two cents.
