RE: [ALOCHONA] The Heart of a Poet.

Any great literature does have the power to overcome the barriers of time and space. This quality is very much evident in Tagore's creations. His eminence as a poet and thinker is due to his power to peep beyond his times. Another aspect of art is to touch the heart of our eternal pain. Shakespeare did it well in England and Tagore did it in India. When Hamlet says, I loved Ophelia; twenty thousand brothers with all their quantity of love can not make my sum. And Tagore said, Amar shokolo tomarey ditey parini, nathohey. I am being an agnostic is practically amazed by his love of the creator. What a devotion, dedication and yarning to see and meet his Lord. This song absorbs all my attention, Tumi kemon korey gaan koro hey guni or Tomar kachey abor maagi, moron hothey jeno gaaner shurey jaagi,

I am always very touched by his poem "Purashkar". It seems to speak of life as a whole.
To quote"jogoter joto raja moharaj, kal jara chilo kotha tara aj? shokale phutiche shukho dukho laj, tuticha shandha bela."

Everything is very short lived, joy or sorrow...
