[ALOCHONA] Re: [world_peace_movement]Why not we just change the “office time” 8am-4pm

Dear Brothers & Sisters,

Greetings from the heart of Bangladesh.

We should try to think like a proud Bangladeshi, not like others without any valid reason. I cann't uunderstand, why we are going to loss huge amount of hour hard earn money instead of chosing easy alternative first?

Just a declaration from the government is needed regarding the opening (8am) and closing (4pm) time, nothing else.

  1. Government is forced to close the markets at 8pm now.
  2. Garments factories where most of the workers worked in Bangladesh is opening at 8am and closing the first shift at 5 pm with a one hour break at 1-2 pm.
  3. Different schools, collages and varsities in Bangladesh are opening and closing at different times.
  4. The farmers, fishermen, potters, sitting & breaking village hats & Bazaars and villagers work following the sun light most of the time (sun rise and sunset).
  5. We also studied in school in different time in summer & winter.
  6. In the past, government offices and hence the private (though there are very few) offices were changed the office time.
  7. In the holly Ramadan, we change our office time every year.
  8. Government is rationing electricity in different industrial areas, irrigation areas in different time.

Everything is very simple without any hassle, killing man hour and wasting money (as I have mentioned in my previous mails). I strongly oppose the idea as there is no logic and where the easy alternative is present. Think that the clock time will be changed of Rajuk Building two times in a year (!!! New budget will be needed to do so!!!).

Thanks & regards,

Engr M H Khan

Assalamu Alaikum.

Dear Respected Brothers & Sisters,
We are great people, who doesn't have own identity, own culture and own ability to decide something at our own. We are always happy in following others, even if they are our enemies. This time probably we are changing the time because our great master wants us to change it. We have no right to say no - we ourselves willingly accepted the slavery, accepted the way of doing things as per the likings of our great master. And it is we, who have voted the people who are making the nation to submit to the wills of the other nation.
It is just the begining. So please don't blame others.

Thanks.

Bondhura,

Firstly I would like to remind, don't think that u know very little than the government, politicians, western etc in so many cases.

However, I am not against the government plan to save day light. But I am strongly opposing most of your argument, why we are going to follow others?

Nobody could give logic in favor of Clock time changing. Instead doing so few of us showing slavery mentality and few of us shown anti-Islamic attitude joking with salaat (thanks hannan for open himself though as a Muslim I am shocked).

On the other hand, Jamal has raised specific problems. Why we are going to create the problems instead of easy alternative?

Prito, try to re-call your history who the bloody have snatched wealth form not only Bangladesh but also from all over the world. The only answer is the British & EU (France, Portugal etc) colonialism & imperialism and now the terrorist USA , EU, Israel & collaborates of them. Could you remember our forefather terrible history in the sub-continent?

Kabir, my child was studied in one school which started at 9 am but the present one starts at 8 am. We, including my child don't bother about this change.

Shuvo, why we will change BDT=GMT+5 instead of present GMT+6? What is the benefit? Ask UK people who have not enough knowledge about Bangladesh but know that Dhaka is situated on GMT+6 line on the global map. Better ask UK to follow our proposed alternative which needn't change GMT of UK. Everybody who studied geography knows from the global map that the time line passed through Landon is GMT, not GMT+1. Why you creating the confusion to the students and people of the world. I hear for the first time that now  the Standard Time of Landon is is GMT+1 instead of GMT. Visit the following website & see that there are two separate clocks (1 for standard & 1 for summer) is needed to realize the UK time? Why?

Please read my mail again and list the advantages in favor of Clock time changing instead of office time.

Personally I am very excited to see the effect of DST in Bangladesh. In my understanding, changing office time is not possible in all sectors. Imagine government has ordered all to start their offices one hour early and finish one hour early. I don't think every one will agree happily. This includes not only the offices, the schools, markets everything. At present my son goes to school at 7:30am. If he has to go to school at 6:30am then it would be hard for him (surely his mother would not like this). Again my son goes to bed at 10:30pm (But he doesn't like to go to bed so early, sometimes I have to force him by telling that he has to go to the school at morning). If I would tell him to go to bed at 9:30pm he would definitely start fighting with me. But now as the clock will change he will still go to bed at 9:30 and will go to school at 7:30, no problem.

Some people are actually confused as they don't have any experience of DST, yesterday I argue with my elder sister about this. My university staffs also argued with me. Some said that our office should shift its timing, some dais their kids school must change the time etc. I tried to make them understand, some understood, some didn't. But I think when the DST will be operating the confusion will be gone.

For Uzzal, it won't harm your saalat time I think (as you are not in BD :) ). Currently at our local mosque the Isha stats at 8:45pm, which will become 9:45 during DST. What I am planning to do, I'll finish my dinner before Isha and after coming from the mosque I'll go to bed.

LOL .......

I won't be surprised if some people in BD really come up with these kind of excuses to oppose the time change. But hope the number is very insignificant.

Hello Khokon,

You are wrong in saying GMT should be changed. Actually currently BDT = GMT + 6, later it will be GMT + 5.

Currently UK Local time (summer time) is GMT+1. In winter it will be just GMT. Lot of countries in the world practice this idea, so why not we. We as a Bangladeshi are bit lazy(at least me and our cricket team). It will give us some chance of practicing our brain.
I appreciate the govt decision.

Dear Brothers & Sisters,

Greetings from the heart of Bangladesh .

The government is going to bring the "clock time" 1 hour ahead that means all the timing including the clock time, computer, aero-plane, train, bus, launch, salaat everything should be changed/adjust from the systems.

GMT timing also should be changed but who will change. But if we changed only "office time" the universal timing will be the same i.e. at least GMT will be the same. Mentionable that at present garments factories start at 8 am.

We could remember that the Schools, Office timing were started earlier in summer than winter in the past..

However, government may re-think about the change of "clock time".

Thanks & Regards,

 Engr M H Khan
