[ALOCHONA] Re: BD diaspora in the west

Dear Alochok Haque

I think I understand what you are trying to say but it is not100% clear. I would be grateful if you would clarify. Certainly there fools everywhere. But sweeping generalisations about the BD diaspora, especially when emanating from withing BD and with a BD perspective invite a massive fightback from the likes of me. I am as strong a critic as you may find of the way things are done in Bangladesh.

On behalf of many members of the BD diaspora whose love for Bangladesh is unconditional, profound and timeless:

- our love is as pure an any who live within Bangladesh

- our patriotism is as pure as any who live in Bangladesh

- our heartache is as pure as any who live in Bangladesh

- our claim on the soil to receive our dead bodies is as pure as any who live in Bangladesh.

We are not former brothers and sisters of our conutrymen, we are not former sons and daughters of the soil.

We are brothers and sisters of our countrymen, we are sons and daughters of the soil.

We want to help, we try to help and we make mistakes. But we stand with Bangladesh always.

As you survey the body of Bangladesh in its current condition, you should not doubt that some members of the cavalry that will rescue this beautiful body from the grip of fooloishness, will come from the BD diaspora.

The country does not want us to return. Think about it carefully. And those who risk everything to return, since 1971, are more often kicked out again. Why worry about the diaspora? At least the diaspora talks. Look at the young men and women, bright and talented, who silently leave our land each year, to contibute to countries that know how to appreciate them - australia and canada, uk and usa. Our society does not want its own best children.

A large section of the diaspora is growing more confident, vocal and critical. Allhamdulillah.

And even if we can do nothing fro our country from a distance, the least we will do is kick and scream about our unhappiness with the nation's condition.

After all, if the soul of our nation had a voice do you think it would be talking politely or screaming in pain?

As well-enunciated by Mr. Haque himself in his narrative, Mr. Haque handles the discriminatory situation by adjusting the shade of brown -- not that of a brown-skinner -- but of a brown noser. According to his own account, it seems the deeper he can get his nose browned the safer he is from getting booted in the butt.

I am not contesting if he was an active blogger or engaged in some kind of social or political activities, his selection gets affected. But so far he is confirmed as a successful candidate in at least 5 to 7 positions but many months passed no offer come through. He may or may not receive the offer from the government offices, where, for one instance, 1200 people applied for 8 positions including Phd. Holders.
> Like in his current office where he always find himself in difficulties getting promoted in comparison with the white new comers and `brown nosers'. Whole world accepted the stark color discrimination in American society in silence and as a norm, but we from the distressed communities always find ourselves in hot soup for our bad records, when total frame work of our system is under severe constraint of resources and wisdom, yet we have no respite from these communities or their bosses.

If it was for general good for the general mass that is fair enough with the new found wealth and resources. But it is not, taking shelter under the same crony politics bashing only the opponents or spreading a ghetto type of thinking.

Not being in BD for years, amassed all wealth in their dream land yet they pretend that they belong there. Referring to their claim of origin or root, launch hate campaign against either our religion (that is the most common) our values or our traditional culture, weaknesses and they perpetrate these only to support their new saviors and bosses at their new home or those at ancestral home that they left forever.

Impeccably they never could speak out against their bosses, even when they bomb and burn, bomb and destroy or kill habitat after habitat, vegetation, natural or man made systems, wedding parties, museums, schools, they are busy demanding punishment for crimes committed by earlier generation or by parties they hate at their ancestral home.
