Bangladesh Politics and its leadership Excellence! - Part 1: Awami League

SCOPE: It is almost time to say all good about Bangladeshi politics. No wonder why Awami League & BNP has been burgeoning in US, Canada, Europe and many other countries. Finally, their challenging journey to foreign lands has come off with flying colors, with new hopes, spirits and direction under the tutelages of Madam Hasina and madam Khaleda. Just look at what the “un-Common“ has happened in British House of “Commons“ only last Friday (07 May 2010)! Imagine an elected “Awami League MP� in British Parliament that generated powerful Tsunami of democracy all over the world.
The fact is, Madam Hasina’s “Awami League candidate“ Rushanara Ali made an unprecedented history by securing decisive victory over Khaleda’s “BNP candidate� Ajmal Masroor and “JAMAT candidate� Abjol Meah! Another Awami League candidate, grand daughter of our Bongabondho, Tulip Siddiqui easily won a position of City Councilor (at Regent Park Ward in London).
AL MEMBERSHIP INTERVIEW: All these amazing AL resurgence and political success ( in England) has prompted me to become a member of Awami League (US Brigade). So, no time to waste! I then had an “urgent� walk-in interview (last weekend) with a powerful Screening Board of Awami League, US Central Command in D.C for its membership enrollment. A three-member delegated Unit (AL) asked me to “briefly� explain on what I had known about the background “radiation�(history) of Awami League. You know, my heart has been pumping original Bangladeshi blood by all means! So colloquially, I should have known exactly how to make these top notched AL interviewers pleased! What I mean, exactly the way they themselves & all other “Level II� leaders deliver the same “stuffs� to Madam Sk. Hasina to make her happy!
BRIEF HISTORY OF AWAMI LEAGUE & SK. MUJIB: I respectfully narrated them from the beginning of “All India Muslim League“, then Pakistan Awami Muslim League (23 June 1949) to Awami League (1955), its founding President Mowlana Abdul Hamid Khan Bhashani along with H. S. Suhrawardy, his visionary disciple, “father of this nation� Sk. Mujibur Rahman………..and his uncompromising struggles for the creation of our fatherland Bangladesh as an Independent Nation.
As the follow up, I also proudly mentioned how “Bongabondhu� Sk. Mujibur Rahman fought side by side with Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose from his Head Quarter in Yangoon (Rangoon) in Burma (Myanmar) in order to free India from the rogue British imperialism in 1943. I have not forgot to mention that our universal “Kobi-Guru� Robindranath Tagore was an aggressive supporter of Awami League and a good friend of Sk. Mujibur Rahman. This nation proudly honor “Kobi-Guru� almost 24/7 and Bongabondhu himself gladly accepted one of his poems as our glorious national anthem with thanks. (It was initially introduced in the AIR by Shree Deb Dulal Bondopadday of “Akas-Bani� Calcutta/ Kolkata).
SK. HASINA: During her entire life, our honorable Prime Minister Sk. Hasina has been a lady of extraordinary leadership excellence with volcanic patriotism . She is also an unremitting “New-clear� War fighter against all digital terrorism & violence, religious fundamentalism and corruptions world wide. Besides so many PhDs those still are unaccounted for, she has become the only proud recipient of “Indira Gandhi Peace Prize�, an internationally recognized award from our only “Good & Friendly� neighbor India for her unique peace mission in Kashmir, Asam and Chittagong Hill Tracts. Madam Hasina is so popular in India, especially in “Indian occupied� West Bengal that a huge majority population there have publicly demanded to draft her as the “Chief Minister� of West Bengal in addition to keeping her as the Prime Minister of Bangladesh.
SK. REHANA: During our 9 months liberation war, Hasina’s younger sister Sk. Rehana successfully chased “Pakistani-General� Rao Forman Ali and later butchers Tikka Khan deep into the river “Burigonga� who were later found dead in the Yamuna (Zomuna) river.
SAJEEB WAZED (JOY): Our national pride, tenacious Sazeeb Wajed Joy is one of the smartest “Digital Thinking Machine� in the history of Bangladesh and could easily make Bangladesh like Singapore in 2 years (as Prime Minister). “Not only that“, I added, “You might wonder, I myself saw JOY leading ‘Bengali Language Movement’ Procession held on 21 February 1952 when our other heroes Salam, Rafique, Barkat and Jabbar were killed by police fire and luckily, JOY narrowly survived except a minor bullet wound in his left feet“.( P.S: I have NOT mentioned anything about JOY’s 7 times arrest records in US that could ruin my AL memership).
MY QUESTION TO THE BOARD: Looked like my “Interview� went pretty well! I was then asked if I would have any question! Recognizing with dignity, I only inquired about the “Mission & Vision� of Awami League in USA. One of the distinguished team member then said to me, “At this time, our MISSION is receiving all visiting AL leaders from Bangladesh at different US Airports with rancorous welcome; honoring them with red carpet, laudatory reception and surely with standing approbations. Then flooding them with flowers & gifts for their wives & children. However, our ultimate “VISION� is still focusing on to and sending Awami League candidates for the US Congress (Senate & House)� as we just have done to British Parliament.
INTERVIEW RESULTS: At the last leg of my interview, the Board members profoundly regretted my admissibility as AL member (US) at this time! While they found my Awami League back ground and political wisdom “IMPRESSIVE & PROMISING� , I was still falling “way behind� on AL extra-curricular activities. They asked me to go to Dhaka University ASAP for 6 months comprehensive FIELD training and re-apply.
CITATION (FACTS): But why? Listen to what our Prime Minister Hasina has said only last week! Immediately after her policy speech on global terrorism, a stupid reporter foolishly asked her, “Madam, who did bomb in Pearl Harbor?� A visibly angry Hasina instantly replied, “Didn’t I tell you on the same day that it was the cowardly act of BNP-JAMAT culprits?� She was “honestly� mentioning of the “bomb explosion� at the 6th floor of “Boshundara Mall� that caused huge fire and extensive damage to PEARL & JEWELRY Stores there! She reiterated that our Pearl industry should survive Insha-ALLAH. On energy crisis, Hasina firmly said, “We may not have sufficient ENERGY but we have necessary POWER to buy it! Digital energy is coming from India soon. Please have patience. On liberation war, she added “War plans were made as early as 1969�.
Why only Hasina! Disgruntle AL Brigadier Sajeda Chowdury recently said, "Khaleda was in the Cantonment under Pakistani Army during 9 months liberation war. She was a informer and a war criminal." [Does any one know what sector Brigadier Sajeda Chowdhury was fighting in 1971?]. If Khaleda is a war criminal, arrest her now! Why waiting for?
Another churlish National Asset, Mohiuddin Khan Alamgir has made a scurrilous demand of apology from Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) ! It is indeed difficult to comprehend that such a genius character like MP Alamgir does not understand that ACC (Anti-Corruption Commission) was only obeying the Commands of then Care Taker Government during the “State of Emergency� with suspended Constitution. Has this coward MP M.K. Alamgir any courage asking directly General MoenUddin/Dr. Fakruddin to apologize? I pretty much doubt! This list goes on and on....
SOLUTION(?): Sadly the people of Bangladesh knowingly continue to re-elect political "leaders" that have track records of rampant lying, cheating, stealing, pandering, broken promises and self-serving agendas. They tell us only what we want to hear from them, proselytize us and we vote for them. 160 million people, NOT Hasina or Khaledait are the only authority of bringing this nation’s mission of freedom to come. The two party system that has served only politicians and their intractable lieutenants for almost 19 years must be winding down to a halt now. These governments have lost the sight of what is good for this country, lost credibility and that is a dangerous and slippery slope.
When AL essentially is no better then the BNP, it is time to remove both parties from the playing field and elect another one. Doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results is the definition of insanity. Let me put this way; we need a leader who must be honest, intelligent, charismatic, warm, genuine, and most importantly, seriously optimistic about the future of our country. The fact is that by now, Bangladeshi have reached at a point where they are mature and passionate enough to elect a stalwart leader for this job beyond Hasina and Khaleda and refurbish the prospect of their future destiny.
CONCLUSION: No, I am not adjudicating AL/BNP nor my anger is against Awami League /BNP as political Party; these 2 major political parties are indeed too broad in Bangladesh and also that politics for them could have been a nobler profession too! This poor nation is disappointed with the ineffective leaderships of Hasina and Khaleda about the way they behave, respond and manage constitutional duties and obligations to 160 millions blue moons of Bangladesh. So, public and media scrutiny are essentials to wake them up! Just imagine them as our national role models who have been whacking this nation from all frontiers with their illusory cronies. I only like these iniquitous bums legitimately thrown out and also pay heavy price.
God doesn't give leader(s) a position of authority to abuse and exploit it but to make their own nation better. Both of them ran/ run the country from their party holes only. See, you can't sacrifice what you don't have! They hide their ugly faces behind the huge billboards of patriotism and pro-liberation force. I find them value deprived buffoons with empty upper chambers (mindless). They will forever remain testaments to the stupidity, arrogance, greed and narrow mindedness in spurious Awami League/ BNP leadership along with their insatiable lieutenants those shall also share the toasty quarters in the hell of eternity (for unjustly depriving this poor nation).
