[ALOCHONA] Fwd: Khabor RE: Stoning a woman: Some unfair comment refuted.

From: S A Hannan sahannan@sonarbangladesh.com

Dear sirs,

Assalamu Alaikum.I am aware of disagreement about the punishment for adultery by married persons among the scholars of Islam, a great majority holding on the basis of some well-authenticated tradition that punishment for adultery by married people is death by stoning. Some scholars of Khawrij and Mutazila schools and some current scholars hold different view.( Se Tafhimul Quran , Sura noor, verse 1 interpretation )

However all major Islamic parties hold that these are exemplary punishments and require  hard proofs and should be implemented only after society has been purified from modern-time immorality and provacitive sexuality. A major scholar Dr Tariq Ramadan called for a moratorium for these type of punishments.

I may mention that criminal law is a small part of Islam, Hadud is still smaller part of .Islamic law, its greater part consists of business law, financing, banking and insurance law, family law , social laws, economic and political laws ,inter state relations etc.Hadud or strict punishments are very few, 3 or 4 in number.Rest is Tajir punishments ( these punishments have been left to the discretion of courts and the political authority.).

It is not fair for Mr Hashmi to say that Insha-allah, Islamic parties will not come to power in Pakistan or Bangladesh to introduce these punishments. This is un necessary sarcasm .Islamic parties in these countries that such punishments will be imposed in proper time. We have seen President  Ziaul Huq sahib legislated such laws and in effect almost  no punishment took place for Zina by married people because it is almost impossible to prove these.

Some new groups with little education and understanding  of Islam, basically lawless groups or rebel groups  like Al Shabab or Taliban Pakistan try to come in focus by such acts without proper legal procedure.Hardly they Islamize the society they do little for elimination of poverty, improving education and economy, empowering the poor and the women and the minorities. These are no representative of modern Islamic movements.Their example can not be any basis of judging Islam or Islamic movement in the present time.

Subject: FW: Stoning a woman: Only the suffering is real, any justification of it is ...

Dear All:

Stoning to Death for Adultery -- An Old Biblical/Jewish Brutality -- is still in vogue among many Muslims in the name of Shariah law; while the Quran only sanctions 100 stripes for both the MAN and the woman involved in the crime provided there are FOUR Eye-Witnesses to testify the crime.

Just think what an Islamist takeover of Pakistan or Bangladesh (which will never ever happen, Inshallah) would lead to ... Please scroll down to see the grusome photos (if you have the stomach..).

Subj: Stoning a woman: Only the suffering is real, any justification of it is fake and criminal

I post the following pictures for those who adamently refused to use their God-given faculty of 'imagination' and condemned the photo illustration of stoning a woman in a local newspaper (April, 02, 2010) as an example of liberal "anti-Islamism'.

I had checked  the Star magazine and found it to be a photo illustration, a sort of art-work for the lead article: "Crime in the Name of Belief."

         http://www.thedailystar.net/magazine/2010/02/04/cover.htm

It was NOT presented as a journalistic photo. There were no captions identifying the figures in the photo, I argued, -- no name, date or place attached to it. It was merely a dramatized photographic art-work to illustrate the topic at hand. Yet there was a big noise made about fakery, how the photo session was "staged"  and therefore dishonest, disingenuous, conspiracy against Islam, etc.

I was roundly ridiculed as anti-Islamic, as if stoning women as punishment of sinful women is such an integral part of Islam that any criticism of any inhuman aspect of it must be branded automatically as anti-Islamic.  Taj Hashmi even wrote a long article, "Mullahs are Coming! Mullahs are Coming!" taunting the Islamophobes and fear-mongers.

Below is an example of photo-journalism that depicts an actual event of stoning a young woman to death in Somalia, a country plunged in the depth of lawlessness in the name of Sharia, and no one in the world community seems to care. These pictures are stark, in plain view, and require no imagination nor any feeling for a fellow human being.
Supporters of a brutal genocide -- Genocide 1971 of Bangladesh -- bear the hearts and minds of these stone-throwers of Somalia.
