[ALOCHONA] Border markets by two months




 
The commerce minister, Faruk Khan, on Wednesday said that border markets with India would be installed within next two months.'Trade relationship between the Bangladesh and India will be expanded and friendship among the people of the countries will also be enhanced after the border markets start operation,' Faruk said while inaugurating the 12 th Sylhet International Trade Fair.
   
The government earlier planned to install border markets with India by April 14 but failed.Faruk said the government would not tolerate any syndicate, which manipulates prices of essential goods in the country.He also urged the countrymen to be alert so that the unscrupulous businessmen could not manipulate the market during the fasting month of Ramadan.

Besides the government, everybody has to remain alert of such syndication so that the unscrupulous businessmen can not extend their black hands in the country's essentials market in Ramadan,' he added. Sylhet Chamber of Commerce and Industries' administrator Faruq Mahmud Chowdhury presided over the inaugural ceremony of the month-long trade fair in the city's Shahi-Eidgah playground in the afternoon. Local lawmaker Shafiqur Rahman Chowdhury, Federation of Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce and Industry president AK Azad, deputy commissioner Sazzadul Hasan and sadar upazila chairman Ashfaq Ahmed also addressed the function as special guests.
