Fwd: Fwd: [ALOCHONA] Fwd: Mental patients on rise for extra marital affairs, say experts

Dear Br. Rahman:

1. Everything is a part of a grand design, there are no accidents. Here is a clue that came out today "Google's CEO: 'The Laws Are Written by Lobbyists'" at http://www.theatlantic.com/technology/archive/2010/10/googles-ceo-the-laws-are-written-by-lobbyists/63908 this is just one of the many examples. It was the grand design that pushed women at work and not the state of business and economy that was artificially created. Same thing happened in the US and Europe during WW2 when women folks were "forced" to work outside their homes in the military industries for mass production of weapons. And once they left home they never returned. Again we have seen a similar situation like ours in Thailand where the garment industries flourished allowing the women folks to leave their homes for "economic solvency" and they never returned homes contributing to growth to another industry called "prostitution".

So far Bangladesh is lucky. But it won't be for long as the economic crises looms around the globe our garment industries will face forced closure resulting in job losses for those women working in the industries. And the result will be the same if they do not return to their own homes after the crisis.

Philosophically, Islam is a plain and a simple religion abhorring the blitz of this life encouraging Muslims to worship Allah and spend time in peace while on earth - something similar to what we have seen in Avatar. Islam does not promise bright and shiny economy like the West. What it promise instead is a peaceful pass time to prepare for the afterlife, which is permanent and lucrative.

Bangladesh was a peaceful nation as long as we maintained that philosophy. But things changed as we began to follow the West and became greedy for power and wealth. Whereas, our Prophet (S) who is our idol and leader was a poor man and lived a simple life giving away all his wealth to the poor for the pleasure of Allah.

Whatever reasons that dragged us into the mess, now that we are on the same boat with no difference with the West, our consequences would also be the same. See the news "Global employment crisis will stir social unrest, warns UN agency" at http://www.telegraph.co.uk/finance/economics/8036438/Global-employment-crisis-will-stir-social-unrest-warns-UN-agency.html

Our PM, despite being a "woman" is totally unable the address the growing problem of women equality in "secular" terms. Thus we see news like this "Establish women's rights in all spheres" at http://www.thedailystar.net/newDesign/news-details.php?nid=157100

2. We could have built better cities in a planned way by creating city pockets keeping the villages in between instead of a long stretched cities as we have today. Again we have blindly followed a Western concept instead of using our own brains.

3. Yes, we are in agreement with this point. You are welcome to read my paper "Good Governance in Bangladesh: A Quest for a Non-Political Party Approach" available at http://www.ccsenet.org/journal/index.php/jpl/article/view/4584

4. There is no such thing as "politics" in Islam. Many falsely calls Islam a "political religion", but it is not. See my paper "Politics, Secularism and Islam" at http://javedahmad.tripod.com/islam/politics-secularism.htm

Thank you.

-High female employment at the garments industries in urban
areas in the name of women empowerment

Actually state of business and economy pushed most of these women to work. Most of them have no choice but work. We have been unable to give them any other/Islamic "Halal" living. It will be hard to find any garment factory owner who has seperate but equal facilities provided for women in the factory premises. Islam is not against women working (Sometime it is the only "Halal" choice left!) but Islam encourages us to provide dignified facilities for our mothers and sisters. On the other hand, I do not think there are too many people who gives a damn about "Women empowerment" in Bangladesh. Albeit we have enough women holding top positions in this country. Actually state of women in BD is not improving. Those who are working are taking huge risk to make a living.

I have to say the same about "Apartment buildings". We do not have enough land in this country to provide "Bunglow" houses for each families. We are not going to have any firmland left if we want to do that.

Disappearance between educated and uneducated groups are not such a bad thing if that was related to life style or quality of life. But I think you are talking about uneducated people are in a position to influence and formulate policies in this country like never before. That is a serious concern.

To be fair to the topic, I feel we do not have good leadership in so called "Islamic parties" either. Sometimes they act like any other political parties and tries to do anything to get closer to almighty "Power". Last time I checked, that is NOT part of Islamic teaching. ;-)

Peace.

"...The major change in family and social life, contempt for social and religious norms, non-dependency and extreme self-reliance between couples,
lack of sharing of family matters, and hidden mental disorder are among other causes of extra marital affairs, the director added. .."

http://www.thedailystar.net/newDesign/news-details.php?nid=156554

Note: Our present government is promoting "secularism" with their heart and soul. The above news is an acknowledgment to the growing problem that our society is facing today due to:

-Indian cable TV soap operas
-English medium Western style co-education schooling
-Co-education at the private and public universities
-Non-practice of Islam at home and at the individual level
-High female employment at the garments industries in urban
areas in the name of women empowerment

-Changed life-style living in apartment buildings with
unknown people and unfriendly families around
-Disappearance of the fine line between the educated and
uneducated groups
-Etc. etc, etc.

That is why I had to write the article "Rise of social ills in absence of Islam" now available at http://www.bangladesh-web.com/view.php?hidRecord=318635
