[ALOCHONA] Re: La Mirada Mosque Vandalized - Sad, but ....

While it is sad that some misguided and hate-filled individual threw a rock at the La Mirada mosque (perhaps after being motivated by our leaders like Newt Gingrich), I am more saddened by the destruction  and burning of mosques in Muslim countries. As I am writing this, I am watching a mosque burning after being bombed by Gaddafi's  helicopters. In Iraq, we saw mosques destroyed, not only by American forces, but by Iraqi Muslims themselves.  

OK, those are war zones, but.....  A few years ago, I witnessed a Ahmedyya mosque burnt (by Mullahs with beard), along with hundreds of copies of Quraan at  Dhaka, Bangladesh. In Pakistan, mosques are bombed and burnt, with the faithful praying inside, almost routinely. In La Mirada, Police took the case, perhaps the criminal will be caught and prosecuted. But not this in Pakistan.

I wrote to the crazy pastor in Florida who wanted to burn the Quraan, that no matter how many you burn, we Muslims will be still ahead of you in the act. So, go ahead and burn!

La Mirada Mosque Vandalized

Shura Council is concerned to learn of vandalism at La Mirada Mosque, a member of Shura Council.
 
It is reported that on Saturday the 19th of March sometime between 2 pm and 7 pm a rock was thrown at the glass window that was completely shattered. The local police was informed who believes this to be vandalism and not a hate crime. We hope that be the case. Earlier in 2006, similar vandalism was experienced by the La Mirada community. 
 
We urge Muslims to be vigilant in protecting themselves and Masajid and report all incidences to law enforcement. Please also refer to CAIR's community safety kit and take all necessary precautions.
