Thank you for forwarding to me another round of Farida Majid's cantankerous vituperation. Looks like, as a lackey of India, she is worse than an obsequious minion, who thinks calling names wins an argument.

On 7 December 2010, on another of her vitriolic rant, when Ezajur wrote to her about Indian hegemonism that "Zoglul is not alone in thinking this", I wrote to you on Ezajur's comment , "This is a good rebuttal to Farida for calling the Alochona group 'mela of blind and deaf people' and the posting of our views in the group as 'dishonest'. Her servitude to the Indian hegemonists is quite repugnant, degrading and pathetic."

She has again proved point.

bdmailer has faithfully purveyed for us another howling by Zag the jackal to join the Hukkkka-hooooaaaah choir.

He considers Hasan Ferdous's well-written, well-reasoned, fact-filled piece to be "blatant propaganda."
Consider the compositional skill of Zag the jackal in the following precious para:

The present illegitimate govt was brought in power through a rigged election on 29 December 2008, with pre-determined results, under military deployment and conducted by the so-called Care Taker Government, which was a covert military govt for two years, run under emergency rules and which in turn was brought in by the vicious conspiracy of the so-called 1/11 2007 engineered by India-US (Bush) and supported by their allies, including their rubber stamp, the UN. Thus by certifying this election as more or less transparent and proper, the writer has deliberately tried to pull the wool over the reader's eyes.

It is rare to come across a paragraph with such a string of phrases each distorting one fact or the other! The lie-mongering mongrel foxes of Alochona group will cheer him on, I am sure!

In a democracy we have one govt. at a time. Criticism of the Govt. should be aimed at keeping the Govt. accountable about serving the people's business. Calling a democratically elected govt. "illegitimate" is same as insulting the millions and millions of men and women who had patiently waded through the process of casting their ballots and waging their hopes on the future.

It is time we get a straight answer to the question: What does this Hukkah-Hoooaaah noise-makers want?

                 Farida Majid

This is a typical Prothom Alo blatant propaganda to delude the people. They say: Half truth is worse than a complete lie.  The writer has asserted that after the fall of Ershad we had consecutively four elections, which were held more or less transparently and properly. But, the truth is: While the first three elections, since Ershad's fall, were more or less free, fair and acceptable by the standards of the developing countries, the fourth certainly was not.

The writer says that Bangladesh has come past the phase of political repression and torture. This again is glossing over the fact that the present regime's rule is a rule of thugs and a reign of terror with its repression and torture being discussed nationally and internationally.

The writer also claims that we have a constitution, which is a safeguard for a democratic rule. How many amendments were made by Mujib in his rule of three and a half years? How did the constitution defend democracy on its fourth amendment?? And also the later amendments?

Is he a BKSAL supporter and a lackey of India? I think so. A detailed discussion would expose his ugly manoeuvres. But I would refrain from it as it would take a bit of time. It would be just enough to say: Down with these vile propagandists and down with their mentors, we will certainly defeat these lackeys of India!
