All to stand 'in court of history' for Prof Yunus, says Dr Akbar
Former adviser to a caretaker government Dr Akbar Ali Khan yesterday said Dr Muhammad Yunus lost in the battle in court but one day would come when all would have to stand "in the court of history" for this incident.

Akbar said the philosophical difference between politicians and Prof Yunus in reducing poverty is that politicians plan on charity while Prof Yunus solves the challenge with self-employment.
Prof Moinul said a Nobel Laureate cannot retire from his post, as his participation is too important to let go of and proposed to make Yunus chairman of Grameen Bank.
Momen said Yunus is not only a man of thought but also of action. Many organisations and men tried to establish microcredit formula through their own theory but only that of Prof Yunus became effective. And this made him the real proponent of microcredit, he added.
UNB adds: Akbar said the government removed Prof Yunus from the post of managing director of Grameen Bank citing a lame excuse that he crossed the required age limit but many government institutions have no rigid age limit.
Akbar urged the government not to destroy Grameen Bank, which extended loans without collateral to 83 lakh clients, mostly poor women across the country, since its inception 28 years ago.
Criticising the government for what he said conspiring in the darkness to put an end to the micro-lending financial institute, he called for leaving the future of Grameen Bank to its clients.
Khan, also a leading economic expert of the country, accused the country's politicians, including ruling party men, of attempting to tarnish the image of Prof Yunus.
