[ALOCHONA] Re: FW: ZIbo City is a star performer and shows how decentralized cities grow the economy

Local government is indeed essential for Bangladesh.

Unfortunately people like Farida will talk about it in the context of Pakistan or Mongolia or Rwanda - but never in the context of Bangladesh under her AL government. Her AL government has done everything possible to undermine local governmnet.

But Farida is really happy when someone in Pakistan wants local government.

How sweet! How useless!

For example, the host city of the Congress ¨C Strasbourg ¨C is creating the Strasbourg-Ortenau Eurodisctrict with its German counterparts across the border. In South-East Europe, we have the South Adriatic Eurodistrict, which has been operating successfully and which was presented to the Congress at one of its recent sessions.

The Congress fully supports the development of inter-municipal cooperation which needs to be fostered in South-East Europe."
