We, the Bangali Community of Baltimore, are cordially inviting you all
to join us in celebrating the 150th birth anniversary of the Nobel
Laureate litterateur Rabindranath Tagore at 7:00 PM on June 18, 2011.
The program will include a locally produced cultural show based on
Tagore's life, art, songs, musicals, and poems. Rabindranath Tagore
was a poet, novelist, musician, painter, and playwright, who shaped...
not only the Bangla literature and music, but also influenced the
world literature in different ways. Tagore was perhaps the only
litterateur who penned anthems of two countries - Jana Gan Man, the
Indian national anthem and Amar Shonar Bangla, the Bangladeshi
national anthem.
Please bring your friends, family and colleagues to give them a flavor
of rich Bangla culture based on the works of this legendary figure of
Bangla literature. There will be refreshments at the end of the
program.
