[mukto-mona] Ibne Golam Samad and SA Hannan - birds of a feather

I could not read Mr. Hannan's original post in M-M due to my PC's glitch; however, I was able to read the Bangla newspaper article written by a person name Ibne Golam Samad who compared the political philosophy and biography of Subhash Bose and Jawahar L. Nehru and Mr. Hannan wanted badly to publicize the same article. Read on and you will figure out why Mr. S.A. Hannan is gaga on Ibne Samad's earth-shattering Bangla article.

The intent of Mr. Ibne G. Samad;s article was however something else. Mr. Samad wanted to give a pristine character certificate to Ms. Sharmila Bose, who is related to Subhash Bose. Now why one has to bestow a character certificate to a woman who claimed to have unearthed some "fantastic" facts on Bangladesh's Liberation War? She hardly needs a character certificate because readers would very much like to know the depth of her studies vis-à-vis 'The Liberation War of 1971'. First, she was not there during 1971 in anywhere within occupied Bangladesh. Nor was she there in the aftermath of the Liberation War. She did her "research" by talking to some folks in Shankhari Patti and elsewhere after a long long time. How did she know whether the folks she talked to were in any way connected to the events of 1971. Any historian worth his or her salt would not write a "research" article based on interviews alone. Also, who funded her research? These days one needs funding to do research. I have a sneaky suspicion that Pakistani Army's ISI may have under-written her research because out of the blue she gave a clean bill of health to Pakistani military.

Mr. Ibne G. Samad who took a Middle Eastern or Arabic name is very sympathetic to Pakistani cause just like Mr. S.A. Hannan. That is the reason I think these two people are birds of a feather.

The information on Subhash Bose and Nehru's life could be found in any encyclopedia or Wikipedia; however, Mr. Ibne Samad mentioned those in his short article to give credence to the notion that he is some kind of authority on Subhash Bose and Nehru. He wrote that Bose formed his paramilitary force 'Azad Hind Fouz' Not 'Azad Hindu Bahini' as stated by him in the article. That Fouz was formed in Singapore if my memory serves me right. The Hindi name for India was Hind and not Hindu. But to Mr. Hannan or Mr. Ibne Samad who have Hindu Phobia the 'Hind' became Hindu. By the way, does Hannan or Ibne Samad know that in Arabic language India is called "Al-Hind." The Greek toook the name of India from Arabs calling the subcontinent "Indie" from which the English took the name India.

Again, the purpose of the Bangla article written by Ibne Samad was to give Ms. Sharmila Bose a credential so that the Pakistani version of our Liberation War get some traction among Bangalees.

I could bet my bottom dollars on this - both Mr. S.A. Hannan and Mr. Ibne Samad still dreaming of uniting Bangladesh with present-day Pakistan. That is the reason they wanted to whitewash the sins of Pakistani military. They certainly found their voice in Ms. Sharmila Bose, who for some strange reason not fully understood by many, wrote a "researched" history book on the events of 1971 vis-à-vis Bangladesh Liberation War. This duo are not realizing the fact that by giving Ms. Sharmila Bose a character certificate they are doing a disservice to their countrymen.

In my book, Mr. Hannan is a Fifth Columnist and so is this writer who took up a Middle Eastern name. Indeed, they are birds of a feather.
