Dear Sir,

Today 18th October 2011(local time 3 pm) "people's empowerment: A Peace Model" is presented by Honourable Adviser H.E. Prof. (Dr.) Syed Modasser Ali in United Nations 2nd Committee. The meeting was chaired by Permanent Representative of Bangladesh Permanent Mission to the United Nations H. E. Dr. A. K. Abdul Momen. Draft concept note was also presented earlier. Five country took part the discussion. Countries are Argentina, Tanzania, Liberia, Egypt, and Australia. Later different Missions Chief and delegates and representative of civil society met a dinner in Bangladesh Mission. 65 countries representatives participate in dinner.

In key note statement H.E. Prof. (Dr.) Syed Modasser Ali discussed on Honourable Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's people's empowering model for sustainable peace and development. Our Permanent Representative H. E. Dr. A. K. Abdul Momen in his speech briefed six points of the proposal. These points are (1) eradicating poverty and hunger (2) reducing inequality (3) mitigating deprivation (4) creating jobs for all including excluded people (5) accelerating human development and (6) fighting terrorism of all kinds. For sustainable peace and development H. E. Dr. A. K. Abdul Momen expects support of all member countries of United Nations.
