Admittedly it is difficult for someone like Jiten Roy to understand the language of American politics, and terms like 'war chest' (fund available for a politician for contesting an election) and 'super PAC' (money collected by donation towards a candidate in an election) would be incomprehensible.
Still, I would not have thought that a reference to an article from the pages of a well-known progressive internet outlet as AlterNet.org would be so unfamiliar to a mukto-mona member residing in the United States. This was an article by Justin Elliott from yet another prestigious news/opinion cyber mag, salon.com.
Even a semi-literate could differentiate an "add" from an informative article on a very important topic, i.e., our democracy is at stake, and elections mean very little since they are being bought by big money alone.
A little schoolgirl knows that the American shorthand for advertisement is 'ad' -- without the additional 'd' -- and what an ad looks or feels like.
