RE: [mukto-mona] Fw: কারা চৈতন্যদেব কে হত্যা করেছিল?

When a haughty lecturer points a finger at others calling them "empty headed" the finger is really pointing at himself.
He says, "Read Zen Buddhism." What does it mean? He has read Zen Buddhism himself. He knows it all.
One of the first things that struck me when I was studying Tao Te Ching in my youth is how BIG the concept of 'empty' was.
Tao is nothing and yet it is ten thousand things. I learned the value of humility in a new way.

The disciples of the sage Chuang Tzu, my favourite Zen maestro, were discussing fasting at one session. Was it about giving up eating meat and rice for a few days? "That's just about fasting the body", said the Master, "what do you intend to do about fasting the mind? The true fasting is about fasting the mind. A fascinating discussion followed about how to fast the mind, empty it completely as a cleansing of the mind ritual. Emptying the mind of prejudices is a kind of mind-fasting that we can all practice from time to time.

Empty is a BIG concept. Please do not just do a wikipaedia job, but try to study Lao Tzu, Chuang Tzu, Han Fei Tzu, and other ancient Chinese philosophers by actually acquiring books and writings about them. There is much to gain for us subcontinentals from traveling all the way to China for knowledge!

By oxymoron, I meant one of the Rahman's. Now it appears that he is
not alone here. Read Zen Buddhism, and you will find plenty of it
which would appear nonsense to you. When an empty head studies
something, he comes with conclusion, then he faces the contradictions,
and finally he ends up with synthesis containing both conclusions and
contradictions. That is the essence of Hegel's philosophy. However
as the Rahman's do, they end up into Islamic literature and treats it
as final. One of them use those ideas as honest, intelligent and etc.
Out of irritation, I wrote those ideas grow in empty heads. However,
it is not untrue altogether. Only a 'flake' would stick to such
things forever.
