Shamokal editor 'threatened'
 
The editor of Bengali daily Shamokal, Golam Sarwar, has sought police help after reportedly receiving threats by some unidentified people.Sarwar filed a general diary at the Tejgaon Industrial Zone Police Station on Monday, stating that some unidentified people told him that he would face dire consequences for publishing reports on the missing BNP leader, M Ilias Ali.

In a report appearing in the newspaper, it was claimed that the government and the BNP had reached a deal over 'returning' Ilias. However, both the government and the opposition have denied striking any such deal.
