Re: [mukto-mona] Re: [Ovimot] Genocide and Massacre in Myanmar (Burma)

1. There are two distinct issues here: Genocide and massacre in Myanmar and AL electoral promise to try all the killings and torture committed by Jamaat-BNP alliance. Neither deserves less attention. But it is also a matter of priority. Muhammad Ali being an AL member obviously has set the latter as his priority to counter the pro-BNP-Jamaat alliance propaganda (most of the time cheap and vacuous) in this forum and other forums too.

2. Personally, I see trial of the 1971 collaborators as an extreme necessity. Also those who were involved in grenade attack on the AL meeting must be found out and brought to justice.

3. As I have said earlier, I was surprised by BD FM's position on the Rohingya refugee issue. As is being reported, Jamaatis have been creating problems for the Rohingyas by using them as their political pawns. I think a section in BNP is also involved in this nasty political game. Any way, on the humanitarian ground this should not be an issue at all. An important question is: can BD really handle such massive problems? BD has been giving shelter to "Biharis" and also the Rohingyas (may be about a million in total) for a long time. Refugees have already had negative repercussions on the economy, environment, and politics. Why are the rich countries and UN not coming for helping the Rohingyas? Is some thing fishy going on?

Help me understand this. Are we seeing pictures of Myanmar or every discussion will end in politics and religious bad mouthing.

There are NO BAL, BNP or other parties in that country. It is run by a military dictators. Would like to hear some good ideas to help these in their time of need.

Shalom!
