Prof. Omar Selim :
The other question remains besides the Hillary-Yunus connection:
The World Bank recommended one Chinese construction firm for the job which later was awarded to Lavalin. The Chinese firm did not qualify but WB put pressure for re-tendering. The government acted as per WB's demand. This time the Chinese firm supplied all the required papers and documents for qualification. However, Jamilur Reza Chowdhury, the chief of the tender evaluation committee suspected and wrote to the Chinese authority (!) for verification. The authority informed him that those papers and documents were false and fabricated. So, the tender committee disqualified the WB's recommended Chinese firm.
Is there any connection between the rejection of Chinese firm and the WB's stand?
