[mukto-mona] Re: জনপ্রিয় লেখক, উপন্যাসিক, নাট্যকার,কথাসাহিত্যক হুমায়ুন আহ্মদের অকাল মৃত্যুতে গভির শোক প্রকাশ করছি।

Thank you Mr Sefat Ullah for sharing your feeling to our noble writer who can be considered as the writer of Mahabharat in Bengal. Humayun Ahmed is/was entirely a secular writer, very articulated one. He could express his philosophy without fuss and facades. If one looks into his philosophical writings, he/she must declare that those are composed in extremely simple form, anybody can understand. Of course, oversimplification sometimes undermined the harsh dynamics of philosophy and epistemology, but he could extract the inner meaning out of those difficult discourses and schools of thoughts. He assimilated the comprehensive body of knowledge and internalized wisdom in himself, never threw weight. And the greatest of all virtues to me is: propagating secularism underpinned almost all of his writings.

He was successful to turn Bangladeshi youth visit the book fair, buy, read and share books. Populism was one of his ( and his publishers') strategies for attaining best seller status. His successful TV dramas and films also helped it. But he was a strong literary persona in this flow of Kolkata-centric hypocrites and so-called-intellectuals.  He is the one who could laugh at braggadocio of jargon-user, complicated and balderdash intello-maniacs. His new writings/novels was  the core element of SHARODIYA DESH of Anandabazar Group Still he stood out if we compare his simple and deep skits to the epidemic of textbook type of writings by Kolkata writers.

In a talk show in the Independent TV last night (just after his news arrived), someone termed Humayun Ahmed as BANGLADESH. Very true. He never stayed abroad except for academic purpose (and this time for treatment). He never used any excuse to stay anywhere else.

Hope God will dry our tears and shower blessings on the soul of Bangladesh named Humayun Ahmed.

Regards

Manabdharma
