RE: [mukto-mona] Rokeya and Taslima

This "Rokeya and Taslima" is a malicious and tiresome TRAP set up by this gang of communal thugs.  They will do it again and again.  It resembles the Mohish bringing up Bakshal Bakshal Bakshal in order to justify the Mujib murder.  The purpose of this exercise is to belittle Begum Rokeya, one of the greatest humanists of all times and all places. This exercise rolls up Rokeya into a tight little ball, falsely representing her achievements and her superbly intelligent writings, wraps her in hijab, and throws her into an ignoble trashy corner all for the sake of glorifying Taslima.  This time the exercise has succeeded in dragging S A Hannan saying predictable hoary things.

This gang of thugs is vicious and as ignorant as Taslima in matters of humanism. They cannot hide their rabid anti-Muslim communalism in any serviceable mask any more. Their fangs are showing in rather ugly sightings! I am getting tired of this game!

As I wrote before, 'enemy of religions' is a foolish statement. An atheist does not believe in religions. That does not mean he/she is an enemy of religions. There can not be an animosity between humans and some primitive words of wisdom. There can be animosities/fights between peoples. I feel strongly that, if re-education does not work, there should be fights between those who use, misuse and abuse religions to hate people and those who have the sense of religion-neutral love for humanity. And people with love for humanity should win those fights.

Having said the above, let me assume that by 'enemy of all religions', S. A. Hannan meant that Taslima criticized the primitive words of wisdom in all religions. Now let me ask a question, if she was an 'enemy of all religions', why is it that only Muslims wanted to exile her, and are eager to kill her?

This may be politically incorrect, but Rokeya probably would not be considered a significant rebel or reformer, if she was not judged against the extreme backwardness of her society. Today the average sixteen years old Rokeya of Bangladesh would not Marry a man in his late thirties; unlike the Rokeya of 1896, she would protest like Taslima.

Taslima is an atheist, herself a debauch and preacher of debauchery, enemy of all religions, indecent to the core, has no civility.
Rokeya was a religious woman, practiced her religion, wore Hijab, and fought for rights of women given by Islam but largely denied to women.

I think, in addition to professional and extra-professional jealousy, Taslima had to suffer from the wrath of a lot of Bangladeshi Muslims who have the power and have gotten used to having some hateful sentiments. For example, her book "Lajja" is like a documentary of what the Hindus of East Bengal who loved their motherland enough to stay there got from the Muslim power; it has no criticism of Islam. It has hurt the sentiments of many Muslims, because it has exposed their hatred against innocent Hindus quite forcefully.
