It is good to see that Mr. Chakrabarty is slowly getting disillusioned about Islam.  He and others should know that even if a person is declared an apostate, his marriage stands dissolved.  Islam allows marriage between men and women who have faith in revealed books, the nature and number of which was never clearly mentioned by the Prophet of Islam, with condition that the non-Muslim member also gets converted into Islam.  A person may be treated as an apostate for various reasons including not letting his 'former' wife into a 'hilla' marriage, if he has declared 'tin talak'.  Recently an Egyptian was declared an apostate for some other reason.  But his wife would not accept auto-divorce by religious decree.  Ultimately the couple had to leave the country for a more civilized one.


By the way, the word 'khutba' has not been the right word for use here.

I thought in Islam there is no compulsion on one's religious belief. Now I see from Zakir Naik's khutba that Islam can stand between two young persons--one Muslim and the other one Hindu--when they are in deep love with each other. Is Zakir Naik a true Islamic scholar? If Mr. Naik is right, then love has to be conditional. That is pretty pathetic.
