Re: [mukto-mona] Last night's debate between Romney and Obama

Throughout the campaign Romney never had a chance. He only asserted himself, when Obama took this election for granted. The beauty of American politics (Despite many shortcomings) that, words still matter, policies matters and people still have some faith in their government.

Obama was a great communicator but Romney also improved a lot. Romney has some "Systemic" disadvantages (His Mormon faith is a problem in the mid-west) but since he is up against a guy name Obama, he was able narrow those gaps.

The difference is after the lousy performance on the first debate, Obama was shaken enough to work his butt off for the next two. Albeit foreign policy is not a high priority to most American voters. We have to wait and see how things plays out.

Shalom!

Subject: [mukto-mona] Last night's debate between Romney and Obama

(This was my Facebook status after the debate)

I have a confession to make. I was not a big fan of American politics. But …

Last night's debate between Obama and Romney on foreign policy was really fascinating. I thought foreign policy was an area where many voters didn't feel entirely confident themselves, neither the two candidates. But It looked like I was wrong. Obama sounded much more confident, resolute and tough on this sector. May be
he came with an obvious advantage, well, the biggest advantage of all: he was already so called "commander-in-chief". Romney pretty much agreed with Obama in lots of situations, did not come out as a visionary person, and rather looked confused to me on some issues. Obama landed more punches, and right after the debate CNN Polls showed Obama won in the final debate (48 – 40 margin)

☕ In my opinion, the best moment for Obama was ☛ the time when he retorted back to Mitt Romney's attack about the decreasing size of the U.S. military and navy : "We also have fewer horses and bayonets, we are not in 1950s... We have these things called aircraft carriers and planes land on them. We have these ships that go underwater, nuclear submarines"

☀ OUCH!! ☀

Not sure about everyone, but it Looked very witty and smart to me :)
