Re: [mukto-mona] malicious AmarDesh on secular MM writers.

I think the threat of violence stops productive conversations and hinders our country's progress.

I have been part of Mukto-mona for a while. However I am YET to see any LOGICAL argument to support atheism, socialism etc. Mostly rants and personal attacks are MOs of prominent Mukto-mona writers.

I don't think intellectuals wannabe at Mukto-mona are any threats to anyone as long people leave them alone. People have fundamental rights to express their opinions and no one should threat anyone over mere opinions that rarely have any logic or data back them up.

Therefore, any political party or organizations who feel victimized by some half-ass arguments are not helping Bangladesh or Islam in any way. I remind everyone about imam Abu Hanifa (RA), who used to invite everyone to participate in open debates on religion and convincingly argued in favor of Islam throughout his life. In the process many joined Islam and rest of them had good understanding about Islamic ideals.

I think religious people have no reason to resort to violence and they should devote themselves to learn about world politics, Islam, technology etc.

Also "Shahbag" is evolving in front of us. There is nothing wrong asking for justice from all quarters. Those people who feel justice was not done can ask for "Justice" ( Not murder) and if anyone feels there is anything wrong in their argument can bring their case in front of people.

I strongly feel this is the biggest blessing in living in a FREE country. Where we can peacefully argue/debate with sensitive issues and still have some respect for each other.

I often disagree with member/moderator Avijit but we are FREE to put up our arguments (hopefully without much interference) in front of all members. Let us work as a team to be a peace maker, truth teller and lover of Bangladesh. We may have some disagreements but we have many many areas where we can agree. So let us find common grounds and let us build on that.

I urge all parties to stay in peaceful path and reject violence.

Shalom/Salaam/Peace.

Subject: [mukto-mona] malicious AmarDesh on secular MM writers.

BNP Jamat's mouth piece infamous 'Amardesh' has started a malicious campaign against all progressive and Mukto-Mona writers after the Shahbagh episode. Yesterday they published an article vilifying  the work  of  various writers including HM, AM and me.   Here is my reaction in our blog:

রাজীবের (থাবা বাবা) মৃত্যু, মুক্তমনাদের বিরুদ্ধে 'আমার দেশ' পত্রিকার আস্ফালন এবং প্রাসঙ্গিক কিছু কথা

I have written another relevant piece in Banglanews24:

Kindly spread the news.
