I think it is important to designate Jamaat as a violent terrorist extremist, anti-State organization. The biggest opposition would be the United States where the Jamaat has poured millions of $$$ trying to convince the State Dept that they are a moderate Islamist Party.
Ordinary citizens of Bangladesh will understand this quite well. It is the middle class educated urban Deshis who think Jamaat means religion, it means Islam. Period. But other Bangalee Muslims make the distinction -- they call them Moududibadis.

গত কয়েক সপ্তাহের জামাত-BNP-রাজাকার এর ধর্ম ভিত্তিক গুজব (সাইদি কে চাঁদে দেখা গেছে, হিন্দুরা জামাত ইসলামী নেতাদের ফাসির আন্দোলন করছে, শাহবাগীরা সব নাস্তিক-নষ্টা ইত্যাদি) এবং তার মাধ্যমে যে সমস্থ চরম ধংসাত্মক কর্মকান্ড করছে, এবং তুচ্ছ কারণে ঘন ঘন হরতাল দেওয়া, যত্র তত্র, এমনকি স্বধীনতা দিবসেও গাড়ী ভাংচুর ও আগুন দেওয়া সহ - দেশের অর্থনীতি কে পঙ্গু করার যে প্রয়াস দেখতি পাচ্ছি -
তাতে মনে হচ্ছে সরকার যদি জামাত ইসলাম কে নিষিদ্ধ করে - তবে ওরা, জামাত-BNP-রাজাকার বলবে সরকার "ইসলাম"কেই বাংলাদেশে নিষিদ্ধ করেছে। এবং আবার আরো বেশি ধংসাত্মক কর্মকান্ড - এমনকি লাগাতর হরতাল পর্যন্ত তারা দিবে!
আমরা এও দেখতে পাচ্ছি যে Awami লীগ ছাড়া বাকি ১৩ দল হচ্ছে কাগুজে বাঘ! আর Awami লীগ ও বিভিন্ন কারনে সব জায়গাতে জামাত-BNP-রাজাকার দেরকে মোকাবেলা করতে পারছে না !
তাছাড়া , এখন জামাত কে নিষিদ্ধ করে কোনো রাজনৈতিক ও স্ট্রাটেজিক লাভ তো হবেই না বরঞ্চ আরো অনেক রাজনৈতিক ও অর্থনৈতিক ক্ষতি হবে !
Why we and present government need to ban Jamat now?
What political - tactical - practical advantage and benefit we and present government will get from this (suicidal) action?
My queries to you all, who demand banning of Jamat-Shibir:
• Is it essential to ban Jamat for speedy completion of the trial of 1971 war criminals through ICT?
• Is it essential to ban Jamat to ensure capital punishment to all the 1971 war criminals?
• Is it essential to ban Jamat to stop the current anarchy in the country?
• Is it essential to ban Jamat to stop repeated Hartals in the country?
• Is it essential to ban Jamat to stop the destructive activities – which are carried out before and during Hartals?
Answers to all questions are NO
Then why to bam Jamat-Shibir?
• To strengthen BNP?
• To destabilize present govt and country?
• To make collapse of this pro people government?
• To stop and execution of trail of 1971 war criminals Jamat-BNP-Razakars through collapse of this pro people, pro liberation government, who has started this tough and difficult task after 38 years?
It might be a hidden agenda of some (enemy) people hidden among us or might be of ignorance of those people, who are demanding this!
Moreover,
Banning of Jamat will not bring any political or strategic or practical advantage-benefit for the betterment of Bangladesh and Bangalee
Rather,
'Banning of Jamat' will add and increase more political and technical problems to Bangalee and Bangladesh.
Like:
After banning Jamat 99% of Jamat's hard-core workers (who are more militant and committed - than the BNP workers) will join BNP (as it happened in 1972, most of them joined in JSD and JSD became furious) and ultimately BNP (combined) will be more strengthen, more furious and more destructive – than the current BNP (alone).
So, effect and extent and magnitude of all current destructive activities (which will be carried out in the banner of BNP) will be more dangerous and more widespread!
Now, most of the time (except in few occasions) Jamat, BNP's political activities are carried out separately, under each party banner. Though they are in 18 parties JOT
Moreover, it is easy and is justified, to take "all out action" against Jamat straightforwardly. No severe chance of political protest, uproar from common people or so called 'neutral' intellectual, media!
As Jamat is branded and labeled as a "terrorist party" and "party of 1971 War criminals" by most of the people (except all Jamat and part of BNP supporters) in Bangladesh as well as in abroad!
But after banning, when 99 % hard-core Jamat workers will join BNP,
Then it will be very difficult to take "similar action" against BNP (actually joined BNP and Jamat) as they (BNP) have more support (30%) and some 'democratic party' level on them, though it is not fact.
After banning Jamat, they may not openly call Hartal demanding 'release of Golam Azam or Delwar H Saidee'- but they (covert Jamat in BNP) will call Hartal for 'release of Tarek', 'withdrawal of corruption and other cases against Khaleda-Tarek-Koko'.
And in these Hartals (before and during) - Jamat workers (under the shadow of BNP banner) will carry out again "all out destruction activities" (like fire in Rail coaches, rail line, destruction of power stations, temple, and all vital economic establishment, to weaken and destabilize the country and eventually fall of this government -which is their (combined) ultimate goal.
So, it will be suicidal step and action - not only for Awami League, also for all genuine pro liberation forces.
Please think again and again!
Who tell (by few pro liberation people or group) Sheikh Hasina and Awami League are not interested or sincere to ban Jamat for "Vote" politics – are completely rubbish!
It is again propaganda and also a complete wrong idea or concept against Sheikh Hasina and Awami League.
Since it will not effect to Awami League vote at all!
Because, all (99.9%) Jamat vote go to BNP box only (and vice versa), as they (BNP & Jamat) set only one or single candidate from them (Jamat and BNP) in each constituency.
Except, if there is any rebel candidate. Number of such candidate are very less and number of such votes are also very insignificant in most (99.9%) of the cases.
So, it will be suicidal step and action - not only for Awami League, also for all genuine pro liberation forces.
Please think again and again!
তাই পারলে এই অর্থহীন দাবী ও অনশন বাদ দিয়ে কিভাবে জামাতের অপপ্রচার, ঘন ঘন হরতাল, শত শত গাড়ী জ্বালাও-পুড়াও, ধংসাত্মক কর্মকান্ড, সন্ত্রাস রুখবেন তা ভাবেন এবং সরকার ও আমাদেরকে সঠিক ও বাস্তব সম্মত ভালো উপদেশ দেন!
একবার তো নাস্তিক হইলেন এখন আবার আপনাদের কি বানায় তা দেখার অপেক্ষায় থাকলাম।
মনে রাখবেন ৪ লক্ষ টাকার বিজ্ঞাপন পেয়ে প্রথম আলো ও আমাদের - আপনাদের থেকে মুখ ফিরিয়ে নিয়েছে!
আরো কে কে নেয় তা দেখার ও অপেক্ষায় থাকলাম।
