Re: [mukto-mona] Sheikh Mujibur Rahman didn't compromie and kept his heads high even under the threat of gallows & execution by hanging..

Yes, Sheikh Mujib had no hidden plan to divide Pakistanbut crux of the matter is that he never compromised with the Ruling Junta on their terms.

>>>>>>>> You are absolutely right. He wanted meaningful and transparent election and true representation of the people. However many in Pakistan blame Bhutto for "Divide of Pakistan".

In fact history tells us he fought to create Pakistan when he saw condition of Muslims in undivided India. He was in Muslim league and Awami League's maiden name was Awami Muslim League (Ofcourse this is an Urdu name).

There is nothing wrong, even if the assertion that he wanted to be the
Prime minister of Pakistan is correct .

>>>>>>> I have NO problem with it. When majority population gave him mandate to run Pakistan, they should have allowed him that post.

He was a great orator and leader. No doubt about it. In his 7th March's speech, he said I am a Muslim and not afraid of death. Many people "Forget to mention" this side of him today.

Shalom!

Subject: [mukto-mona] Sheikh Mujibur Rahman didn't compromie and kept his heads high even under the threat of gallows & execution by hanging..

Many people have failed to understand the historical process
that led to the emergence of the People's Republic of Bangladesh ,,,,
The historical developments in Bangladesh [the then East Bengal (1947-56),
or East Pakistan (1956- Match 25th 1971) ] were unique, one of a kind in the world history..... .

Sheikh Mujibur Rahman fought for the rights of the people .....  he had always been  with masses that eventually made him  Bongobondhu - the Father of the Nation .....

Sheikh Mujibor Rahman's dream was to end exploitation of the masses and
achieve people's rights through peaceful means by mass actions, demonstrations,
strike-struggle etc ... he never ruled the out participation in elections and
democratic parliamentary process as a means to end exploitation and establish
people's rights ..... the arm-struggle by our Mukti-Bahini and people of Bangladesh was the last resort that was imposed on us by the Blood thirsty Military Junta, Yahia-Tikka Khan regime .....

Sheikh Mujib always knew that the masses are the makers of history, not the leaders ..Sheikh Mojibor Rahman trusted the people of Bangladesh, especially the rural Bangladesh   .....

Yes, Sheikh Mujib had no hidden plan to divide Pakistanbut crux of the matter is that he never compromised with the Ruling Junta on their terms.
He wanted the legitimate rights of the people of the whole country that was created by the verdict of the people in 1947.

There is nothing wrong, even if the assertion that he wanted to be the
Prime minister of Pakistan is correct . Yes, Mujib's accession to the
post of Prime Minister of Pakistan by  legal & peaceul means would
have been beneficial for the entire people Islamic Republic of Pakistan:
The ethnic minorities: Baluchis, Sindhis, Pakhtoons even the rural
Punjabi peasantry would have been blessed with the real taste of
democracy and the people's participation in it.

But, the vested interest and the Military Junta vis-a-vis the alliance
of feudal lords with monopolists didn't let it happen .....the Pakistan
turned into Izlamic Refublic of Fakistan ......the MILBUS developed
[see - Dawn (June 1, 2007),  The Pakistan military entrenched the corporate
sector, the country's largest companies and large tracts of real estate.
Pakistan's and its main assets are now in the hands of a tiny minority
of senior army officials ..]

This is the main reason that Pakistan's Military Junta and their
cronies did not wanted to transfer power to Sheikh Mujibur Rahman
.... so they followed that path that broke Pakistan from inside ...

History has shown us that few Bangladesh-born dwarfs like
Khaja Najimuddin, Mohmmad Ali Bogra, even Shahid Shrowardi
became Prime Minister of Pakistan. But, they were all sell-outs
to emerging MILBUS, the ruling class of Pakistan.

This Paki Military Junta knew very well that Sheikh Mujibor Rahman
was not a sell-out, he would not compromise with them on their terms
So as a would be Prime Minister of Pakistan Sheikh Mujibur Rahman
was totally unacceptable to them.

Thus, they followed the path to bring the people whom Seikh Mujib
represented under total subjugation by military means.... Yahia
had plans: Yahya Khan told a group of generals:
"Kill three million of them, and the rest will eat out of our hands...

[On February 22, 1971 the generals in West Pakistan took a decision
to crush the Awami League and its supporters. It was recognized from the begnning that a campaign of genocide would be necessary to eradicate the threat:
"Kill three million of them," said President Yahya Khan at the February conference, "and the rest will eat out of our hands." (Robert Payne, Massacre [1972], p. 50.)

The people of Bangladesh [then East Pakistan] was behind
Sheikh Mujibur Rahman .... The independence of Bangladesh
was the only choice for him and the people of Bangladesh ...
Sheikh Mujibur Rahman's arrest in the  night of 25th March 1971
helped the struggle for independence and emergence of People's
Republic of Bangladesh in many ways, both strategically and
tactically considering the contemporary geopolitics of that time.

At the end Sheikh Mujibur Rahman was a tall man with high self-esteem.
.... he kept his heads high even under the threat of gallows & execution by
hanging..... Sheikh Mujibur Rahman didn't compromie with the Yahia's
Military Junta !!!
