Amen to Mr. Kamal's statement below.
Let me add that all religions have what I call 'primitive wisdoms', which are too silly. The primitive wisdoms do not address a lot of the facts of the world; and on many instances they are too wrong and unjust. It is ludicrous, dishonest and ignorant to suggest that some centuries old scriptures have all the knowledge, or clues thereof, that we humans need for now and for the future.

So far I did not say anything about my personal conviction. I strongly believe that religion may help people by reducing stress (like someone may leave everything to Ishwar/Allah in times of trouble) but it can never be a complete code of life. Also if someone takes literal meaning, all religious scriptures may be seen as full of contradictions.
