I tend to agree with you regarding the BNP. The BNP and its affiliated parties and their leaders are responsible for introducing and flaming up religiosity in Bangladesh and trying to drag Bangladesh into the middle ages. But, having said that, I am also deeply opposed to the AL, particularly for their blatant corrupt practices (140 member delegate to the UN General Assembly meeting!, simply incredible), their total disregard to democratic principles, their unconstitutional behaviour etc. Altogether Bangladesh is not in a happy state, as far as political set-up is concerned. May be some unknown third force will wipe away these corrupt and despicable people and have a clean slate - a wishful thinking(?).

BNP has been following Pakistani India-phobia propaganda as political strategy,which worked very well for them. I do not think adopting Islamic ideology as its political strategy will be any good for BNP;it will loose its own identity, and become just another Islamic political party. Islamic politics is not a very favorable political strategy now a days.
