Delhi also hopes to further improve ties with Dhaka, Indian High Commissioner Pankaj Saran told Law Minister Anisul Haque on Thursday.

"The Indian high commissioner said there was no doubt that India's friendship with Bangladesh will continue. He also hoped that it will reach new heights," said the law minister after his meeting with Saran.

The high commissioner told the law minister that the government of India was satisfied with the measures the Bangladesh government had taken to stand by Hindus who faced hate attacks after the Jan 5 election,.

"India has expressed satisfaction over the initiatives taken following the attacks on Hindus. The high commissioner did not convey worries over the matter," said Haque.

About BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia's claim about the Indian Army taking part in raids in Satkhira, Indian envoy said it would not affect the good relation between the two countries.

The minister said that both countries knew that Khaleda Zia's claim was baseless.

When asked if the investigation report on post-poll communal attacks of 2001, by a commission headed by retired judge Shahabuddin, will be released, he said, "Initiatives will be taken about that report."

The minister did not, however, say when it would be released.
