Typical Anis Ahmed mischief bringing in the subject of nudity to add to the irrelevancy of Sheikh Hasina and Kamasutra! Quite absurd! There was no mention of the word "freedom" in my writing. I talked of "suppression of women" which I tried to point out is NOT recommended in the Qur'an.
Why is it that men love to raise the subject of nudity whenever the topic of discussion is 'hijab'? One is forced to conclude that hijab must be pornographic. I don't think women want to be clad in something that raises porno thoughts in immoral men's minds.

Only floating women and men who are so-called educated and never had family life of their own because of illicit and immoral activities can support for "freedom" of everything, such as unrestricted mixing and enjoyments, freedom of having good times with anybody anywhere, even freedom of exposing bodies! They mix-up decencies with indecencies in the name of freedom. They misinterpret the meaning of the freedom of wearing clothes and attires.
Perhaps, every citizen of the United States of America (the land of democracy and freedom) knows that "freedom" is not absolutely free and it has limitations. Yes,
nudists also have their rights for "bare bodies" in America but within boundaries and restricted areas, not in public places because of indecencies. While women of Christian, Jews and Islam faiths can cover their heads in any public places of the United States of America. Victims of such rights can seek for justice under the US laws which seems not possible in Bangladesh because of secularists!
Conservative Christian and Jews have rights to exercise freedom of wearing clothes and attires in public places because of religious beliefs, not of politics. So as to the Muslim women for wearing "hijabs" which seem not possible in Bangladesh because of so called "freedom lovers".
Not to mention, devils and witches always love to preach others with sweet word and by citing holy books for their hidden evil and immoral missions.

I am no longer surprised to see such low grade of commitment to moral sensitivity from Anis Ahmed. Our religion gives us moral guidance in many ways, and in many instances in the Qur'an we are instructed to treat women with respect. This modern 'hijab' is a political thing and its exclusive purpose is to keep women suppressed as fellow human beings. Neither Sheikh Hasina nor Kamasutra has anything to do with it. To put it in those ridiculous contexts belies the man's intellectual dishonesty.
All over the Muslim jahan, people are beginning to feel the dishonesty and betrayal of Islam behind the so called conventions that have kept women suppressed. Secularism is no longer being flouted as "la deen' or 'be deen', and enlightened people are demanding Secularism to be adopted as State policy even in Saudi Arabia, the bastion of Muslim conservatism.

Kamasutra, Ajanta and Elora may be "Arts of Love" by a few secular activists or intellectuals, but these are treated as "Arts of Sex" and "Pornographic" by most of the civilized and democratic countries in the world today, except India. "Kamsutra" and similar type movies and arts are rated "R" and "X" in the United States and by most of the countries due to adult contents (pornographic, semi pornographic materials), and strictly restricted for the viewing of the children under 17 years of old. While any movies made or arts created with decent contents (attires and materials), even "hijab" are allowed for viewing by all ages, regardless adults or children because of civilities and decencies.
JU Teacher may not openly wants her students to be nude in the class but her action encourages secular activists to adopt Kamasutra, Ajanta or Elora type dresses in Bangladesh gradually in the name of secularism.
Perhaps, that female JU Teacher is not aware that any victim can file compliant with the US Government for violating her rights, for wearing "hijab" if the incident would have occurred in America. Even victims can file criminal or civil cases. Such rights may not exist in secular India and Bangladesh, but are protected in the USA, the "Land of Democracy and Freedom" of the world.
The JU teacher in discussion and secular activists may not know that many activists, political and community male and female leaders in India are now suggesting and encouraging women/girls to wear modest dresses including "hijabs" or "niqabs" for the prevention of rapes.
Obviously, Dr. Amartya Sen will defend India because he belongs to that country. His argument can never turn the "page" to other side to cover-up the facts, rapes occur in India in every minute today. Sorry to mention, supporters of him (Dr. Amartya Sen) love to demean the pride of Bangladesh, Nobel Laureate Dr. Mohammed Yunus, the best friend of the USA for his noble works. Even, Bangladesh government, the follower of secular India honored Dr. Amartya Sen and humiliated Dr. Mohammed Yunus by sending him to court for bail on the same day. Shame on the secular Bangladesh government and activists.

The JU teacher had nothing to do with Kamasutra, Ajanta, Elora, Indian secularism, or India being known as a rape country or whatever. She wanted to teach in a rude and illegal way that women did not need to cover themselves too much. But I have criticized her for being coercive. What she did is not befitting of a university teacher.
Kamasutra is a valuable book from ancient India. It teaches art of love. This is not a pornography. The cave paintings of Ajanta-Elora are also not pornographies. Let us leave the judgment up to those who can appreciate arts. No, the professor obviously do not want her female students to be nude. You are stretching your imagination too much.
The other day I was watching a talk show in which among others Amartya Sen and an American women's rights activist participated. Using data Sen proved that on an average America witnesses greater percentage of rape than India does.

In America, the Land of Democracy, no dress code exists for any public institution (academic or non-academic) other than private schools. Nor even in any government places, except "minimum" modest attire for decency and professionalism. Dress code in colleges and universities is out of question.People in America are free to wear any dress or attire as long as these do not violate public decency. জাহাঙ্গীরনগর বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় সরকার ও রাজনীতি বিভাগে হিজাব পরায় কয়েকজন ছাত্রীকে গালমন্দ করে ক্লাস থেকে বের করে দিয়েছেন অধ্যাপক খুরশিদা বেগম। এদিকে এ ঘটনায় তোলপাড় হলে উল্টো ছাত্রীদেরকেই ক্ষমা চাইতে হয়েছে ওই অধ্যাপকের কাছে। সোমবার ক্লাস প্রেজেন্টেশন (উপস্থাপনা) করতে গেলে হিজাব পরা ছাত্রীদের নিয়ে তিনি কটূক্তি করেন এবং তাদেরকে ক্লাসরুম থেকে বের করে দেন। এরপর গতকাল আবার শিক্ষার্থীদেরকে তার কাছে ক্ষমা চাইতে বাধ্য করেন। নিজের দোষ ঢাকতে ওই অধ্যাপিকা ফোনে হত্যার হুমকির নাটক সাজিয়েছেন বলেও অভিযোগ উঠেছে। সংশ্লিষ্ট বিভাগ সূত্রে জানা যায়, অধ্যাপিকা খুরশিদা বেগমের ক্লাসে ছাত্রীরা ওড়না দিয়ে মাথা ঢেকে রাখলেও তাদের নিয়ে কটূক্তি করেন তিনি। তাদের তিনি মৌলবাদী, জামায়াত, জঙ্গি, কোটরের মুরগি, অসামাজিক ইত্যাদি বলে গালাগালি করতে থাকেন। সোমবার মাস্টার্সের (৩৮তম ব্যাচ) ৫০৫ নং কোর্স 'রেস অ্যান্ড এথনিক পলিটিক্স'-এর ক্লাস নেয়ার সময় তিনি আবারও হিজাব পরা ছাত্রীদের নিয়ে কটূক্তি করেন। এর আগেও তিনি বিভিন্ন ব্যাচের বোরকা পরা ছাত্রী নিয়ে অশালীন মন্তব্য করেছেন বলে একাধিক শিক্ষার্থী অভিযোগ করেছেন। তবে সোমবার ওই শিক্ষিকা হিজাব সংক্রান্ত কটূক্তির পর ছাত্রছাত্রীদের রোষানলের মুখে পড়েন। এরপর তিনি ভিআইওপি কলের মাধ্যমে তাকে হত্যার হুমকি দেয়া হচ্ছে বলে বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় প্রশাসনকে জানান। তিনি অভিযোগ করেন মোবাইলে তাকে অশ্লীল ভাষায় গালিগালাজ করা হয়েছে। হিজাব নিয়েও কথা বলতে নাকি নিষেধ করা হয়েছে। তবে খুরশিদা বেগমের এই অভিযোগকে সাজানো নাটক বলে মন্তব্য করেছেন একাধিক শিক্ষার্থী।
এদিকে অধ্যাপিকা খুরশিদার মোবাইল এখনও বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় প্রশাসনের নিকট জমা আছে বলে জানা গেছে। লাঞ্ছিত ছাত্রীদের সূত্রে জানা যায়, সোমবার হিজাব পরা ছাত্রীদের উদ্দেশ্যে খুরশিদা বলেন, যারা হিজাব পরে তাদের মস্তিষ্ক অবরুদ্ধ, তারা অন্তঃসারশূন্য। যারা ক্লাসে হিজাব পরে আসবে তাদের প্রেজেন্টেশন (উপস্থাপনা) আমি নেবো না। যাদেরকে আমার ভাল লাগে না তাদেরকে আমি ক্লাসে কথাও বলতে দেবো না। এমনকি তাদেরকে শ্রেণীকক্ষের অন্য শিক্ষার্থীদের থেকে দূরত্ব বজায় রাখতে বলেন তিনি। ওই ছাত্রীদেরকে উদ্দেশ্য করে তিনি আরও বলেন, যে মেয়েরা হিজাব পরে তারা ক্ষেত, প্যাকেটের মতো মোড়ানো, তাদের মধ্যে কোন আধুনিকতা নেই। এসব মেয়েদের ক্লাস নেবে তেঁতুল হুজুররা। আমি যাদের পড়াবো তাদেরকে সালোয়ার কামিজ অথবা শাড়ি পরে আসতে হবে। এটা আমার ক্লাস, এখানে শুধুই আমার কর্তৃত্ব। ওই শিক্ষক এ ধরনের মন্তব্য করলে হিজাব পরা ছাত্রীরা প্রতিবাদ জানিয়ে বলেন, আমাদের পর্দা করার স্বাধীনতা আছে। তাই বলে আপনি আমাদেরকে অন্য পোশাক পরে আসতে বাধ্য করতে পারেন না। তাদের এই কথায় অধ্যাপক খুরশিদা বেগম আরও রাগান্বিত হয়ে সন্ধ্যায় ওই ছাত্রীদের রুমে ডেকে নিয়ে আবারও হিজাবের সমালোচনা করেন। তিনি এসব ছাত্রীকে সালোয়ার কামিজ অথবা শাড়ি পরার জন্য পরামর্শ দেন। এ নিয়ে তোলপাড় হলে গতকাল বুধবার তিনি ওই শিক্ষার্থীদেরকে ক্ষমা চাইতে বাধ্য করেন বলে সূত্র জানায়। অধ্যাপক খুরশিদার এমন আচরণের বিষয়ে এক ছাত্রী বলেন, আমরা ধর্ম পালন না করলেও তার যেমন কিছু করার নেই তেমনি আমরা ধর্ম পালন করলেও তার কিছুই করার কথা নয়। কারণ ধর্ম যার যার ব্যক্তিগত স্বাধীনতার বিষয়। এ বিষয়ে অধ্যাপক খুরশিদা বেগমের বক্তব্য জানতে চাইলে তিনি বলেন, এ বিষয়ে পরে কথা বলবো। ঘটনার বিষয়ে সরকার ও রাজনীতি বিভাগের সভাপতি বশির আহমেদ বলেন, শিক্ষার্থীদের সঙ্গে অধ্যাপিকা খুরশিদার যে ভুল বোঝাবুঝি হয়েছিল তা শিক্ষার্থীরা মিটিয়ে নিয়েছে। এরপর তৃতীয় ব্যক্তি ম্যাডামের ফোনে বিভিন্ন স্থান থেকে ফোন করে তাকে অশ্লীল ভাষায় গালিগালাজ করেছে এবং হত্যার হুমকি দিয়ে ক্ষুদে বার্তাও পাঠিয়েছে। অধ্যাপিকা খুরশিদাকে হত্যার হুমকির বিষয়ে বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় কোন ব্যবস্থা নিয়েছে কিনা- এমন প্রশ্নের জবাবে বিভাগের সভাপতি বলেন, বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় প্রশাসন একটি সাধারণ ডায়েরি করেছে এবং তার নিরাপত্তা ব্যবস্থা জোরদার করা হয়েছে। এছাড়া, বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় শিক্ষক সমিতিও তার হত্যার হুমকির নিন্দা জানিয়েছে বলে জানান তিনি।উৎসঃ manabzamin
