You are cordially invited to attend the event.  Security agents will ask for a valid State-issued ID and the Invitation Card (can be had from us)

This meeting is a continuation of our activities since January 16, the day a nine-member delegation of the BHBCUC consisting of Presidents Dr. Jiten Roy, Julius Gomez & Ranabir Barua, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors Mr. Bidyut Das, Advisor Mr. Ranjit Roy, Director Policy Mr. Amit Chowdhury, Director Communications & Publications Mr. Rup Kumar Bhowmick, Director Organization Mr. Bappi Sen Chowdhury,  General Secretary Dr. Dwijen Bhatatcharjya went to Washington  D.C. and held a meeting with the Deputy Assistant Secretary of State Mr. Atul Keshap and his colleagues Ms Heather Variava, Area Director for Bangladesh, Nepal etc., Bangladesh /Desk Officer Mr. Benjamin Barry and Human Rights officer of the Department of  Democracy, Labor & Human Rights as well as officers of the Congressional Committee on Foreign Relations, the Congressional Subcommittee on Foreign Relations for the Asia & Pacific,  and the US Commission on International Religious Freedom (USCIRF) and discussed the issue of sudden escalation in the vicious campaign of religious & ethnic cleansing in Bangladesh and sought their assistance in resolving this problem once for all.

Please note that we also held meetings with a Human Rights office at the United Nations in New York on February 7, 2014 and Congresswoman Grace Meng, a member of the Congressional Committee on Foreign Relations on February 18, 2014.

When the Deputy Assistant Secretary of State arrived in Dhaka on the 22nd of February, '14, we requested him to meet with the leaders of the central Committee (BHBCOP) preferably at the Dhakeshwari Temple, and he kindly did that on February 15.

As our delegates did in the all the above meetings, we will also present the case of minority persecution from a historical perspective detailing how the the Islamists (BNP & Jamaat) have been systematically ridding the country of its minority population while the so called secular democrats are simply looking the other way and in some case participating in persecution and looting.  Upon doing that we intend to request the Ambassador to tell us what he has to say about the issue and comment on our set of demands and recommendations.

BHBCUC, USA is determined to remain a politically nonaligned human rights organization, that is the way we have always been for which we have been invited to give our input in the US Department of State's policy formulation meetings in Washington, D. C. and requested to send speakers at the Hearings held by the US Commission on International Religious Freedom (USCIRF) and the Tom Lantos Human Rights Commission of the House Foreign Relations Committee.  Also, because of our non-partisan position, the USCIRF has sent its honorable Commissioners to Dhaka, organized Hearings and Forums on the issue of minority persecution and their safety & security before, during and in the aftermath of parliamentary elections and met with the BHBCOP (Central Committee) leaders whenever we have requested to do so.

Please note that while we are registered in the U. S. as an independent organization we work closely with the Central Committee as we also constantly consult our counterparts overseas.

Thank you.
Sincerely,
