Re: [mukto-mona] To America and the American President

US foreign policies are different from that of the other countries.  Capitalistic principle is to changes the course based on the prevailing circumstances; it's based on win-lose policy, not ideology. I think USA is benefitting from this very practical approach.

Yes, you are right, there are not as many patriots in the USA, as in the other countries. It's because USA is a land of immigrants. Immigrants, especially - the recent immigrants, are not that loyal to their adopted countries. Most recent immigrants are busy rooting for their motherlands. In spite of this drawback, USA has been almighty superpower. Is this  a miracle? Not at all, it's because of the result oriented practical policies of USA.

To America and the American President
Shazzad Khan

Last night (17th April) on the BBC the US president Barak Obama said something really funnily audacious thing, which he possibly failed to understand that it would make him a comedian in the world. He said that he doesn't want a war with Russia, but if a war is there his military will overpower that of the Russians. I felt really funny to hear that and realised that being the president of USA he has developed as a sense of authoritarian, haughty and feudalistic mindset like his predecessors. The only difference in his case is that he is a black.

I felt funny because in my 50 years of life I have found the Americans as a very coward nation. They only know how to attack weak nations. History also says so. There are many examples but I shall give a few instances. In the 2ndWW when Europe was being battered by Hitler, America kept aloof from helping its allies because it knew pretty well that if it got involved in the war it would also be trampled by Hitler's forces. Not only that, even after Japan's vehement attack on Pearl Harbour, America remained almost silent and then proceeded in a very calculative manner. When only the Russians overpowered the Hitler's forces, the Americans started flexing their muscles to show that they were at war. Mr Obama should not forget that it was because of the Russians the Europeans and Americans are not the slaves of Germans today.

In the early 70's America waged a war against Vietnam and lost. What barbarism America showed there we all saw. Eventually they retreated. In African nations the USA sent forces a number of times on different occasions, but could not prove that its military might could win a war. In Iraq it started a war but could not finish; it eventfully retreated and Iraq is now in disarray. The American forces have proved that even with so much of spending and weaponry they are helpless in Afghanistan. Now they will be retreating from Afghanistan leaving back an uncertain, shattered and precarious country.

One can easily remember how USA stood against Bangladesh in 1971 to defy the legitimate democratic rights of the majority Bengalis and got allied with Pakistan. Not only that, when Pakistan realised that it was going to lose the war in Bangladesh it resorted to Nixon administration for help, and in response the USA sent its 7th Fleet to the Bay of Bengal to crush the Bengalis. Exactly at that moment Russia sent its powerful fleet as well to the Bay of Bengal to counter the 7th Fleet. Then shamefully the USA retreated.

Going back to 1945 when Germany surrendered because Russia had already broken their teeth, the Americans cowardly proved their might by charging A-bombs on Japan. Even at that stage they could not manage to make Japan surrender by conventional warfare. So they dropped A-bombs. Yet going far back in the late 19th century the Americans occupied weaker China and Japan for exploiting them.

During cold war times the coward Americans tried to isolate Soviet Union and to fight Russia they formed NATO. But even with NATO forces they could not balance the might of Russia. Then the coward USA hatched treacherous plot to break Soviet Union, and only in such a move they succeeded. The Americans did this because they wanted to become the 'master' of the world, but could not make it even though they tried to plunder a number of countries later on. They always blare about democracy but support monarchy and military dictatorship where they have interest to grasp.

Once the Russians and Soviet bloc countries were romanticised by America's mesmerising 'words of democracy', but now the whole world including the Russians have realised how they all have been cheated so long by the falsehoods. The Russians now repent for being so imprudent in longing for American-styled democracy which is nothing but 'eat, drink and be merry' based on no moral values or ethics. The Russians have no attraction or care anymore either for Americans or Europeans because they have seen so long that it is America and Europe who violate more human rights than the Russians themselves. That is why they want to go back to the status what they had during Soviet era and are supporting Putin's move.

Going back to the funny feeling that I have started with I really wonder with what wand Barak Obama will overpower the Russian forces. Maybe Mr Putin will not give a retort to what Mr Obama said against Russian forces because Mr Putin is a gentleman and he looks a gentleman. But on his behalf let me tell something to Mr Obama that in your lifetime, not even in your dream, you can overpower Russian forces. It will be a nightmare for America. Mr Obama, you might spend much more than the Russians on military, you might have some more weaponry than the Russians, you might have some likeminded allies with you which the Russians don't have, but you utterly lack one very essential quality – the moral power. The Americans lack moral power which the Russians do not.

The Russians have a centuries-old history of existence and valour. Look at the history. They fought like lions – no matter whether they won or lost. The gallantry of legendry Red Army in 2ndWW is an example second to none. Mr Obama, do you have any such gallantry like this in America's history of existence? In fact 'no'. The reason is: America is a nation having germinated from the 'leftover' of the spoilt Britishers who were nothing but illegal occupiers. They have a history of only 300 years. They might have money, but not morale. The mindset of existentialism can never produce a nation of superb identity. Americans have no identity at all.

Once again I want to reiterate that if you ever think of fighting the Russians you will lose, not they. Because your soldiers are not patriots but 'paid'. The Americans pet their soldiers by money and that is why they need so huge amount of military spending. But by contrast the Russians have morale and patriotism. That is why Russia does not need huge money to 'pet' its soldiers. With less than 1/5th military budget of USA, Russia can not only fight back America but the whole NATO. Russia has the power to make America 'radioactive ash' within hours. America knows this pretty, pretty well and that is why when Mr Obama made such a preposterous comment we find it hilarious. He also surely smiled silently!

Out of haughtiness the Americans often forget that the USA is a boiling pot of a hybrid nation. Anything hybrid may look big, but produce very least. What the Russians, Chinese or Indians have historically, the Americans don't have that. For becoming like Russia, China, India or like Iran the Americans will have to wait at least 500 years to come. Only then can they show the valour to challenge nations like Russia. Until then it will only shout, but produce nothing.
