নারায়ণগঞ্জ-৪ (ফতুল্লা-সিদ্ধিরগঞ্জ) আসনের আওয়ামী লীগ দলীয় এমপি শামীম ওসমান নিরাপত্তার অভাব বোধ করছেন। এ মর্মে তিনি নারায়ণগঞ্জ সদর মডেল থানায় জিডি করেছেন। জিডির পর থেকে তাকে পুলিশি নিরাপত্তা দেওয়া হয়েছে।
প্রতক্ষ্যদর্শীরা জানান, শামীম ওসমান গত শুক্রবার রাতে ফতুল্লা মডেল থানা পুলিশের একটি পিকআপ ভ্যানের পাহারায় শহরের চাষাঢ়ায় অবস্থিত রাইফেল কাবে প্রবেশ করেন। সেখানে কয়েক ঘণ্টা অবস্থান করার পরে আবার রাইফেল কাব ত্যাগ করেন তিনি।
এ বিষয়ে জানতে চাইলে জেলা পুলিশ সুপার খন্দকার মহিদ উদ্দিন বলেন, নারায়ণগঞ্জে যে কেউ নিরাপত্তা চাইবে, পুলিশ মনে করলে তাকেই নিরাপত্তা দেওয়া হবে।
প্যানেল মেয়র নজরুলসহ ৭ জন অপহরণের ঘটনার পরপরই শামীম ওসমান নারায়ণগঞ্জ সদর মডেল থানায় একটি জিডি করেন। তাতে তিনি নিজের জীবন নিয়ে উদ্বেগ প্রকাশ করেন।
