Recently an inquiry was conducted following allegations that Islamists (mainly Pakistanis) attempted to takeover the management of around 20 primary schools in Birmingham and carryout their Islamist ideology. Their opportunities arose when the present government a couple of years back decided to give the management responsibility to the parents of students of the school. Pakistanis got into the management board and radical Islamic agenda were introduced. The main findings of the inquiry are as follows:
:: The term "white prostitutes" was used by the staff at school.
:: A school trip to Saudi Arabia was open only to Muslim pupils
:: A call to prayer was broadcast over a playground on a loudspeaker
:: In a biology lesson the class was told "evolution is not what we believe"
:: A radical preacher was invited to speak at a school
There were other pressures on the students, such as making them go to Duhr prayers, be submissive to Allah only, go to mosques at other times etc. The government has risen to the occasion now and is trying to weed out such heinous activities any where in the country.
