Yes, you are free to play with Mujib and his legacy. Take his crown away and put it on your own daddy's head if that fits onto his head? Who cares?

Declaration of "Father of Bangladesh" was a dead issue for the nation until Awami League and it's allied party made it alive before 2007 election. Bangladesh Awami League and it's alliance succeeded in election in majority parliamentary seats with "conspiracy" (with the direct help of Indian Government and spending billions of taka) that was later revealed by the "The Economist" and acknowledged by Madam Hillary Clinton.
Sheikh Hasina did not waste time in executing her political agenda just after coming into power with "plot" by declaring Sheikh Mujibur Rahman as "Father of Bangladesh" but also started taking steps to take revenge and destroy political opponents in the names of justice which recently exposed " to the world as "skype scandal."
If Sheikh Mujibur Rahman can be declared as "Father of Nation" for his contributions to the "birth" or "fathered" of Bangladesh but keep in mind that he can be also be tried posthumously for his "crimes" against humanity. History tells us about Sheikh Mujib and his cruel regime that how he ordered to kill his citizens mercilessly. Beside this, millions, if not thousands of people were killed due to his dictatorship ruling and dictatorial orders. It is widely known and enforceable by laws that a father or mother can be prosecuted and be sentenced if he or she kills or murders his or her own children regardless the mother gave "birth" or "fathered" the child.
History also tells us how most of the Awami League leaders and closest friends of late Sheikh Mujibur Rahman formed a government in August 1975 backed by young army official who took power in a bloodless coup. They took oaths as cabinet members without any delay under another Awami League leader and a patriot of Bangladesh late Khandoker Mustaq Ahmed before the dead body of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman was buried. People across Bangladesh overwhelmingly supported the new era and were happy for the end of Natzi type Mujib's BAKSAL rule. Not to mention, Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) was formed at that time by most of the Bangladesh Awami League defectors and patriots including freedom fighters.
"Father of Nation" never came as an issue during 1970s, 1980s, 1990s, and first part of 2000s due to misdeeds of Sheikh Mujib. Today, Sheikh Mujibur Rahman is called as father of nation by virtue of enactment of Awami League led Bangladesh Parliament without looking into the crimes committed by him.
Question may arise whether Sheikh Mujibur Rahman can be tried posthumously?
Yes, citizens of Bangladesh can ask for the trial of late Sheikh Mujibur Rahman posthumously for the crimes he committed during 1971 to 1975 since there is no statutory limitation. "Father of Bangladesh" title that was awarded to Sheikh Mujibur Rahman can be revoked or taken away if he is found guilty. Any citizen can file a criminal case against late Skeikh Mujibur Rahman now, if not, on a future day.
