Who gave a red carpet welcome to Bhutto before Pakistan recognized the independence of Bangladesh? And when the meeting was fruitless, who called a hartal on the of his departure from Dacca? All that happened in April 1974! Bangladesh was not being ruled by Bhutto at that time.

Instead of getting a bullet through his head, he got leave from the Pakistani military in April 1971! And this fellow was appointed a sector commander of the freedom fighters of Bangladesh!!

Generations of Bangladeshis should read this, and be ashamed of the leaderships of their country's freedom fight. With such sector commanders, who needed the Pakistani military to crush the freedom fight? No wonder, Mujib was assassinated and Bangladesh remained a mini Pakistan after that for so many years!

For the honest history, generations of present and future Bangladeshis can be proud of the ordinary people who took up arms for the dignity of their motherland, but realize thatAn they could never have a Bangladesh without the help from India and its direct military actions.

(Inside Out). Like all of us, the reviewer also wanted to

know the truth, not the claptrap riff-raff stories.
Bangladesh is awash with such riff-raff stories and people
are fed up with these 'paper
tigers'.

‘১৯৭১ : ভেতরে বাইরে’
বইটি পড়ে মনে হবে না
নতুন কিছু জানলাম।
ভূমিকার প্রথম পাতাতেই
যদিà¦" তিনি লিখেছেন ‘...
মুক্তিযুদ্ধের অনেক
ইতিহাসই আমার জানা আছে,
যা অনেকেই জানেন না বা
তাঁদের জানার সুযোগ ছিল
না।’
মুক্তিযুদ্ধের
ইতিহাস তো একটাই। তিনি
‘অনেক ইতিহাস’ কোথায়
পেলেন সেটা একটা
প্রশ্ন। হতে পারে সেটা
তাঁর ভাষিক
  দুর্বলতা। বলতে
চেয়েছেন, ‘অনেক কাহিনী’
তিনি জানেন। তবে সেই
‘কাহিনী’গুলো যে কি তা
বই পড়ে জানার জো নেই। যা
লিখেছেন তা বহুজনে বহু
আগে বহুবার লিখে
ফেলেছেন। খন্দকার
সাহেব নিছকই জাবর
কেটেছেন। 
তাঁর
নোটগুলো হারিয়ে গেছে,
স্মৃতির à¦"পর নির্ভর করে
লিখেছেন, আর সহায়তা
নিয়েছেন কিছু প্রকাশিত
গ্রন্থ, গ্রন্থকার à¦"
দলিলের। যেসব বই à¦"
দলিলের রেফারেন্স
দিয়েছেন সেগুলোà¦" সবারই
পড়া-

  অর্থাৎ যারা পড়তে
আগ্রহী।
যে তিনটি
বিষয় তিনি জোর দিয়ে
প্রতিষ্ঠা করতে
চেয়েছেন সেগুলো হচ্ছে
১. বঙ্গবন্ধু তাঁর ৭
মার্চের ভাষণ শেষ
করেছিলেন ‘জয়
পাকিস্তান’ বলে; ২.
আà¦"য়ামী লীগের কোন
যুদ্ধপ্রস্তুতি ছিল না;
৩. শেখ মুজিব স্বাধীনতা
চাননি, তাই ২৫ মার্চ
রাতে তাজউদ্দীনের
চাপাচাপি সত্ত্বেà¦"
স্বাধীনতা ঘোষণা
করেননি। 
এগুলো
কোন নতুন কথা নয়। এসব
বলে বলে এক শ্রেণীর
রাজনীতিবিদ মুখে
  ফেনা তুলে ফেলেছেন সেই
১৯৭৫-এর ১৫ আগস্টের পর
থেকে। তারা যখন এসব বলে
বলে ক্লান্ত হয়ে বসে
পড়েছেন তখনই খন্দকার
সাহেব ৪২ বছর অপেক্ষার
পরে সেই চুপসে যাà¦"য়া
রাজনৈতিক বকাবাজদের
হাতে পুরনো
হাতিয়ারগুলো পুনরায়
ধরিয়ে দিলেন। এসব
হাতিয়ার যে বহু
ব্যবহারে ভোঁতা হয়ে
গেছে এবং এসবে যে
ইতোমধ্যে মরচে ধরে গেছে
সেটা তাঁর জানা উচিত
ছিল। তবে বইটি ভাল
বিক্রি হবে বলে মনে হয়।
