Re: [mukto-mona] Re: Prophet Muhammad used to order his Jihadi gang to assassinate his rivals and most important critics of Islam

Yes, political correctness is the word! Thank you. Why pick a fight with the people, when you can just flatter with some mere words and carry on your daily own business? What would Tagore have gained by bad mouthing PM?

Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi, Rabindranath Tagore and George Bernard Shaw were great people. But they were not perfect. Their selective praising of Mohammad/Islam was irresponsible, and served no good purpose. Their praising of Mohammad/Islam was similar to the political correctness of Barack Hussein Obama and David William Donald Cameron trying to dissociate Islamic State from Islam. Both the Muslim apologists and the non-critical free-thinkers need to realize that none of the first three gentlemen that we are talking about here (MKG, RT and GBS) found Mohammad/Islam impressive enough for them to convert to Islam.

As for Mohammad, based upon the number of humans that have been following him, it is probably easy to call him "ahead of his time." The serious flaw that I see with the contemporary Muslims is that too many of them want to believe and enforce that he was ahead of our time.

I have no
problem in believing that GBS said it. I see a reference
given below. Inquisitive minds should check before refuting
it. It is important to know in what context he said so. GBS
was a different kind of personality. He was outspoken. Did
he not reject Nobel in literature? Did he not call Gandhi
the naked fakir of India? In this connection I want to
remind my fellow free thinkers that Rabindranath called
Muhammed a great sage or Maharshi.
I don't want to engage in a
dialog with some one who speaks entirely based on faith. I
read the great words of Ramkrishna Paramhansa Dev but never
believe that he was sent by God or he himself was a
reincarnation. I appreciate his great teachings. Similarly I
see the prophet as a man with outstanding capabilities but
not without human limitations. In many respects he was ahead
of his time.
