Jogen Mondal was a political idiot with no foresight. He thought and expected that the hate-group of the Muslim two-nation theorists would provide human and citizenship rights to the oppressed Hindu class that he belonged to. সব হিন্দুর মত যোগেন্দ্র মন্ডলের প্রতি আমারও প্রচন্ড রাগ ছিলো। ক'বছর আগে তার পদত্যাগ পত্রটি পড়ার পর আমার রাগ কিছুটা কমেছে। এখন আমার ভাবনা তার কিইবা করার ছিলো, পাকিস্তান নামক সাম্প্রদায়িক দানবের পদতলে থেকে? বাংলাটা এখনো পড়িনি, তবে তার পদত্যাগ-পত্রে ওই সময়কার পাকিস্তানী মন-মানসিকতার পরিচয় পাওয়া যায়। প্রশ্ন হলো, সেই পরিচয় কি আজও আমরা পাইনা? দেশ বদলেছে, মানুষগুলো তেমন
বদলায়নি! ফলে অত্যাচারিত হিন্দুরা আজো যোগেন্দ্র মন্ডলের মত পালাচ্ছে।
