7 burned alive in Choudyagram, Comilla
By Shazzad Khan, Gulshan, Dhaka

Yet once again a gruesome petrol bomb attack on the innocent bus-riders occurred today (3rd Feb) and 7 innocent people burnt alive. More people will die soon as their condition is extremely serious. A couple of previously burnt people also died today. The death toll from burning alive is increasing day by day, let alone the maimed ones.

But there is no concession so far either from the government or from the major opposition BNP. Both Awami League and BNP are watching death spree from fire and calculating who can get what amount of benefit from each bomb attack and death of the innocent people. Awami League is saying that it is done by BNP, and reversibly BNP is saying that it is done by Awami League men and they are shifting the blame on BNP for making political advantage. However, we innocent people don't understand who makes what ploys and gains what benefit. We only understand that it is a battle between two belligerent political parties and consequently anyone of us may be a victim of such gruesome attack and lose everything in our life, and our family will be shattered.

In contrast, nothing will happen to either BNP or Awami League. Only at the end of the day they will, by turn, come to power walking on the burnt death bodies and shattered lives of innocent people and make their fortune by amassing money. If Awami League (government) claims that these dirty, gruesome attacks by petrol bombs are done by BNP men, then they should prove that at least one of such attackers has been caught and hanged for killing innocent people. Has it happened for a single instance? No. We hear that a number of such attackers have been caught, then why are not they tried and hanged for killing innocent people? Why is the government still waiting for more bomb attacks and killings of innocent people to happen? Do they want to have more advantage from more killings?

On the contrary, if BNP claims that they are not behind such attacks, rather the attacks are done by Awami League men, why not they stop the blockade and Hartal? If still the attacks go on further then obviously it will at that time prove that there is some link between government and the attackers and that's why the perpetrators are being spared by the government for their own benefit. Every day the ministers and the ruling party men are shouting that the situation will be normal in a day or two, but nothing is happening. Does it mean that the government is giving a blind eye to the killers because it has some interest? Only God knows?
