I should not repeat the same thing again and again. There are some problems in basic understanding of Islam. Islam is a culmination of all stages of one religion into a name. If you want to refer to Islam please study about it properly. I/we always say: Islam is not a new religion.
I will just refer to the first sentence of your posted article: "Long before Islam came in to existence, Kaaba, in Mecca in Saudi Arabia was a pilgrimage site." The message of this part "Kaaba, .... was a pilgrimage site" has no problem. Problem is with this part: "Long before Islam came in to existence." Islam came into existence right from Baba Adam (AS). Please read the following messages, such as The Core of Islam, you will get some (not full) understanding.
I do not blame you nor others for saying: "Long before Islam came in to existence, ......" Our history books have been written in this wrong way and we have learned wrong things, in many cases!
More readings will give us proper understanding of overlapping and/or similarities of different religious issues of different times followed in successions. In the succession process, people of all times have to obey the (new) Orders of God/Allah, and concurrent Prophet(s), among whom Muhammad (SM) is the last one. Following God's/Allah's Orders not fully, but partially or not at all made many people "disbelievers" at all times.
Best wishes,

The Core of Islam
The main message of Islam is the same basic message in all revealed religions, as they are all are from the same source, and the reasons for disparity found between religions.
By M. Abdulsalam (© 2006 IslamReligion.com)
The Inclusiveness of Islam: The Finality of Prophethood
By Jamaal al-Din Zarabozo (© 2007 IslamReligion.com)
What is meant here by "the inclusiveness of Islam" is that fact that Islam is for all times and places. ….
The Prophet Muhammad himself said:
"I have been sent to all of the creation and the prophets have been sealed by me." (Saheeh Muslim)
Again, he said:
"The Children of Israel were led by the prophets; whenever a prophet died, a prophet succeeded (him). Lo! There will be no prophet after me" (Saheeh Al-Bukhari, Saheeh Muslim)
Thus, there finally came the Prophet who explicitly declared that he is the final prophet. The Prophets who came before the Prophet—as far as can be seen from what is narrated from them—did not make such a claim regarding themselves. Thus, for example, in Deuteronomy 18:17-19, God is telling Moses that He is going to send another messenger "like unto him" in the future. In the New Testament, in John 14:15-16, Jesus speaks of "another Comforter" being sent by God. (Also in John 16:7-8 and John 16:12-13 Jesus speaks of someone coming in the future.) On the other hand, the Prophet Muhammad made it very clear that no prophet would come after him.
God has also said:
"…This day, I have perfected your religion for you, completed My Favor upon you, and have chosen for you Islam as your religion…" (Quran 5:3)
Thus, the religion is completed and perfected and there is no need for any alteration or change. The message has come and shall suffice until the Day of Judgment. The Prophet sent for all peoples has already come.

Long before Islam
came in to existence, Kaaba, in Mecca in Saudi Arabia was
a pilgrimage site. The word Kaaba might have come from the
Tamil Language which originated around 1700BC. In Tamil
Nadu Kabaalishwaran temple is Lord Shiva's temple and
Kabaali refers to Lord Shiva. The black stone at Kaaba is
held sacred and holy in Islam and is called "Hajre
Aswad" from the Sanskrit word Sanghey Ashweta or
Non-white stone. The Shiva Lingam is also called Sanghey
Ashweta. So what is in Kaaba could be the same what Hindus
worship. The pedestal Maqam-E-Ibrahim at the centre of the
Kaaba is octagonal in shape. In Hinduism, the pedestal of
Brahma the creator is also octagonal in shape. Muslim
pilgrims visiting the Kaaba temple go around it seven
times. In no other mosque does the circumambulation
prevail. Hindus invariably circumambulate or Pradakshina,
around their deities. This is yet another proof that the
Kaaba shrine is a pre-Islamic. In Shiva temples Hindus
always practice circumambulation or Pradakshina. Just as
in Hinduism, the custom of circumambulation by muslim
pilgrims around the entire Kaaba building seven times
shows that the claim that in Islam they don't worship
stones is not true.
Allah was one of the
deities in Kaaba long before Islam was founded. It might
come as a stunning revelation to many that the word
'ALLAH' itself is Sanskrit. In Sanskrit language
Allah, Akka and Amba are synonyms. They signify a goddess
or mother. The term 'ALLAH' forms part of Sanskrit
chants invoking goddess Durga, also known as Bhavani,
Chandi and Mahishasurmardini. The Islamic word for God
is., therefore, not an innovation but the ancient Sanskrit
appellation retained and continued by Islam. Allah means
mother or goddess and mother goddess.
The King
Vikramaditya inscription was found on a gold dish hung
inside the Kaaba shrine in Mecca, proving beyond doubt
that the Arabian Peninsula formed a part of his Indian
Empire. (Ref: page 315 of a volume known as
'Sayar-ul-Okul' treasured in the Makhtab-e-Sultania
library in Istanbul, Turkey). King Vikrama's preachers
had succeeded in spreading the Vedic Hindu sacred
scriptures in Arabia and Arabs were once followers of the
Indian Vedic way of life. The annual fair known as OKAJ
which used to be held every year around the Kaaba temple in
Mecca and the present annual hajj of the Muslims to the
Kaaba is of earlier pre-Islamic congregation. . Even to
this day ancient Siva emblems can be seen. It is the
Shankara (Siva) stone that Muslim pilgrims reverently
touch and kiss in the Kaaba.
Muslims shave their
head and beard and don special sacred attire that consists
of two seamless sheets of white cloth. One is to be worn
round the waist and the other over the shoulders. Both
these rites are remnants of the old Vedic practice of
entering Hindu temples clean and with holy seamless white
sheets. According to the Encyclopedia Britannica, the
Kaaba has 360 idols. Traditional accounts mention that one
of the deities among the 360 destroyed when the place was
stormed was that of Saturn; another was of the Moon and
yet another was one called Allah. That shows that in the
Kaaba the Arabs worshipped the nine planets in pre-Islamic
days. In India the practice of 'Navagraha' puja,
that is worship of the nine planets, is still in vogue. Two
of these nine are Saturn and Moon. In India the crescent
moon is always painted across the forehead of the Siva
symbol. Since that symbol was associated with the Siva
emblem in Kaaba it came to be grafted on the flag of
Islam.
The Hindu Vedic
letter in Sanskrit "OM" if seen in a mirror one
can see the Arabic numbers 786 and this is the most sacred
number for Muslims and copies of the Arabic Koran have the
mysterious figure 786 imprinted on them. In their
ignorance simply they do not realize that this special
number is nothing more than the holiest of Vedic symbols
misread and none of the Arabic scholar has been able to
determine how they chose 786 as the sacred for them. In
short muslims are also going around Siva Lingam at Kaaba,
seven times as Hindus go around it seven times.
A
few miles away from Mecca are a big signboard which bars the
entry of any non-Muslim into the area. This is a reminder
of the days when the Kaaba was stormed and captured solely
for the newly established faith of Islam. The object in
barring entry of non-Muslims was obviously to prevent its
recapture. Kaaba is clothed in a black shroud. This custom
also originated from the days when it was thought necessary
to discourage its recapture by camouflaging it.
Another Hindu
tradition associated with the Kaaba is that of the sacred
stream Ganga (sacred waters of the Ganges river). According
to the Hindu tradition Ganga is also inseparable from the
Shiva emblem as the crescent moon. Wherever there is a
Siva emblem, Ganga must co-exist. True to that association
a sacred fount exists near the Kaaba. Its water is held
sacred because it has been traditionally regarded as Ganga
since pre-Islamic times (Zam-Zam water).

Assalamu
Alaikum, brother Shaheen,
A well-researched article. Thank you so much for this useful
article (May Allah give you Barakat).
I already made a few comments. Here is a little bit about
Gachow's (I used this term before) intellectual
bankruptcy/dishonesty (though he is a very well-known
personality) about the word "Rasul." Rasul can
convey different meanings/messages by its differential
contexts of uses, as you said.
There are many words (of the same spelling and sound), which
carry different meanings due to changes in use-contexts.
For example, "Watch" by which we can mean just
seeing/observing (watch out), while it's another meaning
of wrist-watch (that gives us time).
Most important thing is: Gachow has a sworn mission of
anti-Islam advocacy that made him arrogant and ultimately
ignorant in many cases, such as his speech at the
BD-Mission. Iblis lost his position from and earned the
curse of Allah (SWT) due to arrogance, which ultimately
earned him nothing but idiocy (he became the great
sinner!).

Dear All:
As Salamu Alaikum. Hope Ramadan is going
well.
Recently, Abdul Gaffar Chowdhury
(I'll mention him as AGC now on) gave a speech
in New York City (NYC) that caused quite a bit of
uproar. I've decided to listen to his speech before
making any conclusion. I listened (watched) to his
speech he delievered in NYC. I don't think AGC is
an
Islamic scholar. An Islamic scholar would provide
references
from the Holy Qur'an & Sahih (authentic) Hadith
when
providing exmaples, facts which AGC didn't do. It
appears that the NYC meeting/program was not based on a
religious topic. It's puzzling why AGC choose to
speak
about Islam during the holy month of Ramadan despite it
was
not an Islamic topic program.
Anyway, from his speech in NYC, in my
humble understanding, I've found out that he did
provide
some false information on Islam. They are:
(1)
AGC mentioned mushriks deities (idols) names'
can be found in Allah's 99 names (known as
"Al-Asmaul Husna"). Actually AGC's claim
in
completely false. On the contrary, not a single name out
of
99 names are same as any deity's (idol's) name.
Definitely, the mushriks would have been very happy, if
Allah's 99 names had been taken from their
idols'
names. But obviuosly, that's not the case.
(2)
AGC mentioned there was no "porda" (dress
code)
during Prophet Muhammad's (pbuh) time and
that "porda" was added later on by others.
This is false. In fact, verses 30 and 31 of
SurahAn Noor (24:30-31) and verse 59 of Surah Al
Ahzab (33:59) revealed to provide
dress code to Muslim men
and women. And as soon as any verse revealed, that has
become mandatory on Muslims and at that time, Muslims
implemented them immediately. AGC said
"Wahabis"
implemented 'Porda,' which is completely false.
It's the commandment of Allah (swt) through the
Holy
Qur'an (I cited references above) to Prophet
Muhammad
(pbuh) which then was taught, practiced and
implemented immediately during Prophet Muhammad's
(pbuh) time.
To prove his point, AGC said Aishah (our
Prophet's wife) fought in a battle while sitting on
a
horse. So she didn't do any
'porda.' Actually Aishah (May Allah be Please
with her) did take part in a battle but she was sitting on
a
camel (not on a horse), but it is false that during
the
battle Aishah didn't do any 'porda.' This
battle
took place about 34 years after the death of Prophet
Muhamad
(pbuh). Aishah was one of the best scholars in Islam, one
of
the wives of our beloved Prophet, she is one of the
best
examples to Muslims and yet AGC tried to claim, since
she
fought a battle, she didn't wearing proper Islamic
attire mandated by the Holy Qur'an. This alone
constitutes an insult to Aishah, because after
revealing
Quar'nic veres on the guidelines of proper Islamic
attire (I provided Qur'anic references above) Aishah
was
definitely wearing the proper Islamic attire all the
time
even during that battle. Therefore, AGC's claim
that
Aishah didn't do 'porda' during that battle
is
completely false.
This battle took place about 34 years after
the death of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) and we all know
that
the whole revelation of the Holy Qur'an was
complete
during Prophet's (pbuh) lifetime. So it's not
that
Aishah was in the battle before the Qur'anic verses
on
Islamic attire were revealed, but it's many years
after
Prophet's (pbuh) death.
(3)
AGC was also very critical on the fact that in his
opinion,
Bangladesh is seeing increasing numbers of hijab,
burqa,
tupis. Why would this bother him when Muslim men and
women can use hijab, burqa, tupis to follow the
Qur'anic
verses and our Prophet Muhammad's (pbuh) sunnah and
guidelines? Some women choose to wear burqa, because
they
think that's safe for them so that they don't
get
noticed by other men. Yes, covering face by women is
not
mandatory, but if some women choose to cover their
face,
what is wrong with them? What is wrong with wearing,
hijab,
burqa, tupi, if Muslims choose to do so?
(4) AGC was trying to
explain the Arabic word, "Rasul." The word
"Rasul" could be used by Arabic speakers in
broader sense to simply mean a 'representative.'
But
the term "Rasulullah" (Rasul + Allah) has
been
used for all major Prophets including Prophet Muhammad,
E'esah (Jesus), Moses. Muslims know very well that
Prophet Muhammad is "Rasulullah." Prophet
E'esah (Jesus) was also mentioned as
"Rasulullah" in verse 157 of Surah An Nisa
(4:157). He could have cited this example. But I assume
he
doesn't know about references from the Holy
Qur'an.
Instead he foolishly tried to cite Nehru's example
by
saying when Nehru was visiting Saudi Arabia, he was
greeted
with the world "Marhaba Rasul Al Salam"
which
means "welcome, messenger of peace." It was
completely unnecesary to bring Nehru into this, because
he
could have cited Qur'anic example to show other
prophets
besides prophet Muhammad (pbuh) were also mentioned as
"Rasulullah" (messenger of Allah).
Though I'm not a scholar, I feel as a
Muslim, it is my duty to speak up especially when AGC
provided some false information on Islam. Please feel
free
to correct me, if there is/are any error(s) in my
references
and facts. May Allah help us. May Allah give
"Hidayah" (guidance) to AGC.
Thank you.
Shaheen
