Acting Secretary General criticizes Prime Minister for her blame game tricks with the foreigner’s murder incidents; demands impartial investigation

Acting Secretary General of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, Dr. Shafiqur Rahman has issued a statement on 4th October, 2015 protesting and condemning the untrue remark of the Prime Minister what she made while addressing a press conference today at her official residence ‘Gana Bhaban’ after attending the 70th session of the United Nations General Assembly as she stated that BNP-Jamaat have involvement with the recent murders of two foreign citizens’.

I am vehemently protesting and condemning the untrue statement of the Prime Minister in her today’s conference in which she claimed that BNP-Jamaat have involvement with the recent murders of two foreign citizens’. Following the murder of an Italian citizen in capital’s diplomatic zone on 28th September, the law enforcers could not identify the suspected murderers yet. It was their duty to ensure their security. But except some show off, no effective measures have been taken. Resultantly, another Japanese citizen was killed within 5 days of that gruesome murder. Before identifying the killers, the Prime Minister blamed BNP-Jamaat for having involvement with these murders. Is it really possible to arrest the real murderers now? The countrymen expected that the government would conduct a proper and fair investigation into the murders to detain and punish the real killers. But the Prime Minister’s address in today’s press conference has disappointed the entire nation.

Following the murder of the Italian citizen, Jamaat-e-Islami demanded the punishment of the killers following a fair investigation. The Prime Minister accused the BNP-Jamaat parties of having involvement with these murders just to conceal the failure of the government to protect the foreign citizens. It is really unfortunate.

The countrymen expect that the ruling authority should stop the blame game culture at once and would arrest and punish the real killers. We are still hopeful that the Prime Minister would give up the culture of blaming others and take initiative to hold a proper and impartial investigation into the incident to punish the real murderers.”
