I know why you do not like the word – conservative. Most of us, from where we come from, associate the word conservative as religious conservative only. But, in the West, the word 'conservative' mostly refers to fiscal and/or social conservative, not religious. This is because - most people here are not seriously religious anyway, be that liberals or conservatives.
Anyway, I can't say that Markel is a stupid person, but I can confidently say that - she is a social liberal. In fact, most people in the EU are social ultra-liberals, and that explains their PC culture, as well as, their visa-free entry facility throughout the EU in this day and age. Social conservatives will have hard time to accept such propositions.

I actually like the word "liberal" more than the word "conservative." I am against conserving the stupidity, injustice, hatred and barbaric behaviors of most of our human ancestors practically everywhere in the world. So, the word that I would prefer to use on Merkel would be "stupid", which I would also use on a lot of politicians and intellectuals who claim to be secular and humane. It is inexcusable when injustice, hatred and barbaric behaviors are tolerated by claiming to be secular and humane.

Now, the leaderships of the whole world have become Baghdad Bobs, and no one is telling the truth to the citizens of the world.
