Wasn't Mushataque a close confidante of Sheikh Mujib, for whose election victory in 1973 at Daudkandi, Comilla, Mujib ordered that the ballot boxes be helicoptered to Dhaka for stuffing in his favor?According to the Awami partisan trial verdict, "only a handful of Majors" staged the coup on August 15, 1975 and the rest of the military were not involved. In that case, why the "rest of the military" could not crush those "handful of majors?"Why did the people say Al-hamdulillah, instead of Inna-lillha, upon hearing the death of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman?Why the chiefs of Army, Navy, Air Force, Police, BDR, Rakkhi Bahini, Ansar and others rushed to the Radio Station, immediately following the fall of Mujib, to support the coup and pay their allegiance to the new president?Wasn't President Mushtaque's entire cabinet formed by Awami Leaguers? Did the coup leaders or Ziaur Rahman, if he was involved in the coup as some of you say, have any place in that cabinet?What prevented the 75 million people to oppose the coup, if they did not accept and hail it instantly? Wasn't it a Victory Day like scenario in the country? Check the archives, if you did not live in Bangladesh in those days.Why did Malik Ukil, one-time president of Awamil League, termed Mujib a Zalim Feroun?Why did Humayun Rasheed Choudhury, one-time Awami Speaker, said in Sylhet in mid 1980s that Sheikh Mujib could not be cleansed even if he was hanged a hundred times (Weekly Sugandha)?Why were the coup leaders were hailed as national heroes for more than two decades and through five successive governments of different parties? (Yes, it was different only in Awami time).The list will be never ending.
