[mukto-mona] About Rampal Power Plant !!!!

I do not understand the logic of a section of a civil society and green group of Bangladesh agitating against the Rampal Coal Fired Power plant under construction at Bagerhat at a location 14 KM away from the World Heritage Sundarban Mangrove Forest . How can a modern thermal power plant using Ultrasuercritical Technology ,FGD , Low NOX spearator and usining superior quality coal can destroy the mangrove forest ? Will it create more impact than Tidal surges and Tsunami which so greatly was absorbed by the Mangrove forest ? Has anyone of the group visited any modern coal fired power plant anywhere in the world ? It is possible to achieve almost zero emissions these days . Effluent treatment minimises water pollution well below acceptable limit .There will be massive afforestration around the plant to absorb CO2 emission if any .
Rampal power plant at Bagerhat will create huge employment opportunities for the people of the entire region . People wont have to rely exclusively on Sundarban ( collecting honey , fish and wood ) . The robbers and other anti social elements may have better options for not involving in risky activities . There will be massive industrialiazation in the entire region .
I want to question the section of the civil society as to how they consider the intiative for a major power generation project in Bagerhat goes against the spirit of the liberation war ?
