Modi denied a visa by America after 2002 because of Gujarat riots
Narendra Modi was denied a US visa from 2005 till 2014 under Section 214 of theImmigration and Nationality Act of 1965. This section states that anyone may be denied a visa on the grounds that he/she "directly carried out, at any time, particularly severe violations of religions freedom".
The US State Department considered him a participant in the 2002 Gujarat riots for his failure to prevent them and hence used this rather obscure law to deny him entry. Interestingly, PM Modi is the only person to have ever been denied a visa under this act. A US Embassy spokesperson confirmed this denying him a visa........................
