[ALOCHONA] Let's Agree

Can we agree on a few things...

History tells us..

1. Indian subcontinental powers always relied on Army Chiefs..be it Akbar relying on Man Singh or be it Sherajuddowla on Meer Modon or Mir Jaffar;
2. we are yet to find a way how to ensure we can change our lot without believing the army is the solution for stability;
3. all army chiefs in the world, be it Hitler, Mousollini, Saddam, Idi Aamin - all came to power with the excuse of eradicating corruption;
4. not a single existing army officer has been arrested on corruption charges in fear of a coup within the army and it is diffiuclt to find even single army officer who is not a kotipoti in Bangladesh;
5. in history there is no precedent where the poeple of the country had uprised against its own armed forces (not against the army rule or against a single dictator) as it happened in Bangladesh which has put a serious question to our sovereignty and its safeguard;
6. in a country like Bangladesh we need massive investment to eradicate corruption through social awareness and modernisation of systems;
7. we require an honest polce force with high salary and strong disciplinary watchdog and not army to meddle in civil activities;
8. corruption in the Judiciary can be eradicated simply by modernininsg and computerising the court proceedings and checking the honesty of the Judiciary by watchdogs;
9. the trial of the incaracerated powerlords are being tried under Special Powers Act (which is a black law) and under Special Tribunal which will have no impact if Judiciary is sepaparated from Executive and if ant Government comes who are not of the present Government's liking, all these trials will be thrwon away at the Appellate division of teh High Court;
10. we should strop blaming the spouses for the misdeeds of the other halves until and unless we have evidence of support or encourangement from their spouses;
11. there is still a question of clearance as to why barrister mainul Hossain's brother was allowed treatment abroad and what hhapened at Ittefaq Bhavan which led to two murders.

Subject: Re: [ALOCHONA] Giti Ara Safia's husband threatens to kill expatriate Dr. Mahbub and his wife

To Whom It May Concern:
Recent news about the brutal attacks to Dr. and Mrs. Mahbubul Islam by the accomplices of Mrs. Giti Ara Safia Chowdhury's husband have shocked me very much. I know this couple for two decades as soft spoken, polite, pious, kind hearted and peace loving citizen. In the USA they are known as real patriots of Bangladesh who dedicated their lives from writing research papers to the investments from their hard earned saving money for the good causes of Bangladesh.
What a shame to Mrs. Giti Ara Safia for her husband's heinous activities to a highly acclaimed and tenured faculty member of a prestigious private catholic university of Pennsylvania, USA. Perhaps, Mr. Chowdhury could not accept the realities of the academic achievements, true patriotism, highly dignified and noble profession of Dr. Mahbub Islam. Might be Mr. Chowdhury failed to tolerate the legitimate stand of Dr. Mahbub other than exercising his cruel, uncivilized and barbaric heroism by virtue of his wife's ex-officio ministerial powers.
No matter, whether Mr. Chowdhury is a husband of an Advisor of Bangladesh government, but he is not above the laws of the land. Government should take every step to bring Mr. Chowdhury to justice, and ensure safeties and securities of the lives of Dr. Mahbub and his family if the current CTG wants to proof it's impartialities.

Subject: [ALOCHONA] Giti Ara Safia's husband threatens to kill expatriate Dr. Mahbub and his wife

Subject Adviser Giti Ara Safia's husband threatens to kill expatriate Dr. Mahbub and his wife and grab their six storied building in Gulshan Dhaka.
Giti Ara Safia Chowdhury is again in the news after she and her husband tried to grab property of an US expatriate Dr. Mahbubul Islam and his wife threatening them to kill.
Our famous infamous (Oghton Ghoton Potioshi) Adviser to Caretaker Government Mrs. Giti Ara Safia Chowdhury wife of BNP nominated EX Member of Parliament Nazim Kamran Chowdhury and Sister-in-Law of our Chief Adviser Dr. Fakhruddin Ahmed is again in the news.
No, this time it is not for steamrolling over poor jute mill worker but for beating, threatening to kill and illegally grabbing a six storied building in Gulshan Dhaka.
Dr. Mahbubul Islam who is a professor of St. Francis University of Pennsylvania and his wife Farhana Islam jointly holds a press conference today October 25, 2007 in Dhaka Reporters Unit conference room.
Mr. and Mrs. Islam who owns a six storied building in Gulshan Dhaka alleged that their property at Gulsha-2 Road number 41 holding 7A which houses Giti Ara's ad firm Adcom and his husbands firm Sign Adage and Megnavission is been forcefully  grabbed by Caretaker Government Adviser Giti Ara Safia Chowdhury and his husband Nazim Kamran Chowdhury for some time. Islam couple brought their complained to RAB unit1 commander on December 6th of 2006 but no justice been received
On Monday 22nd of October Nazim Kamran Chowdhury husband of Adviser Giti Ara himself, Adviser Giti Ara's brother Abu Rushed Tarak, cousin Mokim Chowdhury and along with their gang attacked Mr. Mahbubul Alam and his wife with iron rods and sticks. Mr. Mahbub was hospitalized.
Adviser Giti Ara's husband did not stopped there he slapped Mrs. Farhana Islam when she was begging him for his husbands life. Nazim Kamran tore her Shari and used savage language and threatens to kill her and her husband, asking his gangs to drive the pickup truck over her husband Dr. Mahbubul Islam.
Both of them appeared in front of journalist and described the torture of powerful adviser Giti Ara Safia and her family. They asked for government to save them from this powerful land grabbers.
Can Dr. Fakhruddin do justice or he will take the side of her beloved Sister-in-Law is next to be seen. We heard lot of advice from Dr. Fakhruddin that no one in the country is above the law. Nation wants to see if Adviser Giti Ara Safia is above the law or under the law.
Sincerely
Shamim Chowdhury
