[mukto-mona] BJP's hypocrisy

BJP is hypocritically self-contradicting. On the one hand, it bucks up obscurantism and medieval socio-religious backwardness, while on the other hand it goes hi-tech from engaging ad agencies in poll campaign to cell-phones in political campaign.
It's latest is inner-party email network.

BJP launches email system

The Bharatiya Janata Party has become more hi-tech. The party on Saturday launched its own email system to enable better co-ordination between its State and district headquarters.

The party's regional headquarters in different States are now linked through satellite with the control room in New Delhi and separate remote servers placed in different parts of the country.

This is being done to bridge the gap between central leaders and the cadres at the grassroots.

Launching the system BJP President Rajnath Singh said: "Ten years ago, we became the first political party in India to have our own website. Today, we have become the first political party to have our own email system."

Singh, during a function held at the party headquarter here, launched the IT initiative by sending the first mail to the official party IDs of 300 top leaders.

He said: "In an era when the world has become a global village, our party aims at reducing the distance between the cadre and the leader. BJP would, in fact, be the first party to do so in the country."

Party's IT cell Chief Pradyut said: "BJP would become the first automated party in the world to start dedicated email IDs and private messenger chat rooms. The plans in place would ensure flow of information to every cadre at his or her convenience. Even an illiterate can approach an email sent to him through voice telephony."

The saffron party now boasts of a Wi-Fi enabled national headquarter. A national database server is in place at the Bhartiya Janata Party office which would store all the party data, ranging from details of every cadre to the communication details.
