[mukto-mona] Re:The role of Army and PM's Speech

We have been following the events with great anxiety... In spite of  Government's clear intentions I think the army has a strong role. I just listened to PM's speech and it had a strong tone from the army's perspective.

My Response:

I also listened to the PM's speech and I will not taint it by saying that it had a strong tone from the Army's perspective. I found the speech of the PM as well coined, balanced and a statesman like speech. It had both the elements of carrot and stick.  It had the softer appeal and the declaration of general amnesty (that was later corrected saying not applied to those who have killed, looted or committed any crime) as well as stern warning for not testing her patients.

... I think civilians should begin to advise the PM.. She seems to be advised by the army…

My Response

I don't know how you came up with such idea that she is only being advised by the Army. Perhaps a lack of information at your end. Its better not to comment on something if you don't know about it. Watching and monitoring the event, I found the PM was well advised by her civilian cabinet members, presidium members, and she consulted the three service chiefs.  The engagement for the talks with the criminals who killed to so many people was also through the civilian MPs.

I believe force is the last option and perhaps should not be even considered….

My Response:
I doubt your prudence and experience on handling such issue especially when you say "… should not be even considered".  Yes, force is the last option in many cases … but not considering it is outright foolishness.  Please read the headlined of the newspapers.

The issues of corruption by the BDR Army high command and other issues of inequity must be reflected on behalf of GOB.

My Response:
I am sure as the extent of the criminal act, brutal killing, mass grave, dispeakable crime against women and children are coming to light, you will bite your own nails and soon realize that the issue was not the 'corruption' or 'inequality' but something more serious and heinous. On the contrary you may not realize it even after those facts are reveled if you are a sympathizer of those who have committed such henious crime.

I did not find anything in your comment about the people who were brutally murdered, the children who lost their father, and the jawan who was killed by the other jawan. Don't you have anything to say about them? Where is your conscious when you see mass grave in Bangladesh when we are seeing those in some African countries? Does it pleasure you or hurts? let us know.  How many of the officers who were killed did you know personally about their honesty, integrity and dedication? Do you just see some jawans with arms making statement in the TV and start writing your assessment? Do you know that some of the jawans were also killed by their fellow jawans? Did you know that some of the officers who were killed are also the son of some of the jawans? Please take time to know facts about each of those officers, motive of the incident, and the way it was done and theafter make your assessment.
